I collect Def Leppard memorabilia.  I'm not a rabid collector, and I don't believe I have anything rare, but if I see it, I buy it.

I also collect 80's music.  MP3's most particularly.  They make it much easier to move around.

I used to collect stamps, and had one mother of a collection, until it was all stolen.  I never bothered again after that.  I'd simply lost too much, including some quite valuable ones.

I collect elephants (no not real ones, silly), small ones.  I have about 300 of them, from different parts of the world.  And they can only be ones that have their trunks in the air.  :)

I collect books...not first editons or rare stuff, but books for reading. If I like a story or author,I cannot bring myself to give it away.

I am also trying to collect magazine articles, movies and recordings (he had an awesome singing voice) featuring New Zealand's Kevin Tod Smith.  Some things are very hard to find, and I don't always have the cash to spend on the things I do find online.

I don't know if I would call this a "collection" but I am the one in the family that keeps all of the pictures of generations past. I have wonderful pics of my grandmother when she was young, and pics of my grandfather when he served in WW2 in Germany...and many other pics that are priceless to me.  :)

Fish in art.  Paintings, prints, some nik-nak stuff.  I'm very picky about what I want though, there is a lot of tacky stuff out there and luckily family members have given up trying to buy if for me.

Music. CDs exclusively. I cannot bother with crappy mp3 sound quality. Plus half the stuff I collect cannot be found easily anywhere 8) Mostly Futurist/Noise, New Wave, and New Romantic stuff is what occupies my time and money...

Books. Only things that interest me. No first editions or anything like that. I like to open and read my books not have them sitting on the shelves because they are rare and pretty!

Films. Eurotrash stuff, anime sometimes, classics, foreign, and other miscellany. I had to get rid of over half my collection before I moved here :-/

Books... that's about it at the moment.  I collected comics years ago, and sometimes wish I had never stopped.

A long, long time ago I used to have quite an extensive collection of unicorns.
Had to finally get rid of them after moving them so many times.
Then I had a huge collection of cows in my kitchen.  It was starting to spill over to the rest of the house and I finally got tired of seeing them so they had to go.  I kept a few that people gave me though.
Now, my house collects dust and that's about it.  :)

keychains.  it's a bad habit to get into...i had them all displayed on my backpack.  i finally got a new backpack this past summer (i'd had the old one for four years; i was sick of reattaching the straps. :D) and i thought about moving my collection over to the new backpack...well, as it turns out, i have so many keychains that they all got stuck on the zippers of the old one!! :D  there are some pictures at http://home.att.net/~padrino/keychains.htm because i am a loser. ;D

i also collect socks.  this collection is useful, because i also wear these said socks.  the weirder they are, the better. 8)

Have you tried Music DVDs yet TB? No not the video ones, just pure music coming out of a 5.1 or 6.1 music surround sound system, if done right you can actually hear each speaker with a different instrument/voice  SWEEET!

Me? I collect books, mostly hardback first editions of fantasy authors. I have started my DVD movie collection as well and am approaching about 100 movies so far,

a little bit of info for ya PoP....I have a friend that also collects elephants...not only are the suppose to have their trunks up....but they are not suppose to 'face' a doorway to the outside.  She told me why, but I cant remember...something about evil spirits or something.

I just know the first time I walked into her house and saw nothing but the butts of elephants...I had to wonder what she was trying to tell me!!! ;D

I guess you could say I collect books as well.  Primarily anything to do with true crime, crime investigation, forensics, profiling, evidence, famous court cases, death penalty cases, etc.....

And no, I am not a psycho killer learning the tricks of the trade....I was a criminology major in college & I am fascinated with crime.  :P

Exactly!  Why do you think I collect the ones with the trunks up?  It is believed that if you point the trunks to the doorway that you use most often to leave your house, they're trunks will lead bad luck & evil spirits out the door!  And welcome good luck and positive energy in.   :)

Adam Ant memorobilia
Duran Duran pictures
DD music videos

Anything that has to do with gray or black cats

I used to collect stuffed animals. I'm pretty sure I could've filled a rather large toystore with all the animals I used to have. Those were the days.

Hmmm...I have all of the Little House On the Prairie books in hard back (I know, I know!  But I loved 'em when I was little, and they look neat on my book shelf!)

Also collect:
*Stephen King books
*Cherished Teddies and other misc. teddy bear type stuff
*Stuffed animals (this collection has dwindled a lot, because    when we first got our cat, she umm liked them a lot as well!)
*R.A. Salvatore paperbacks, sort of!
*Duran Duran items, though I havent added anything new in many years.  I still have my 2 scrapbooks though!
*80's compilation cd's -- I REALLY need to catalog what I have before I continue buying.
*Tons of DVD's, but not really a 'collection' -- if it's a good movie, I buy it on DVD!

Guess that's all I can think of for now  :P

Oh, and one more thing.  More sentimental than anything else -- I have kept most of the greeting cards I've received since childhood.  I'm sure a few are missing here and there, but I have bags and shoe boxes full!

You, too? I am such a packrat and have kept all the cards and letters I have recieved since I was a kid. I didn't start really keeping them until I was about 12-13 or so. Every now and again, I will go through them and read a few. Since I started using (first a word processor and now) the computer to write letters, I also save all the ones that I have written. That way, I know what I told the person before and TRY not to repeat myself. I TRY not to repeat myself. Oops. Sorry.  ;)

That is nothing to be embarassed about!  I have the first set in paperback, and I still go back and re-read them...at least three times a year.  For the record, I am 35 1/2 years young.

There are other books in the "Little House" family.  Stories of Laura's daughter, (written by her grandson), and other members of Laura's family, like her mother Caroline, and several aunts.

I'm going to be buying those soon for my daughter.  They are timeless stories.

I did collect Hallmark ornaments...in fact had a very extensive collection and a few very rare and valuable ones...and then some that just had sentimental value to me, but it seems they disappeared about the same time me and my ex split.  I have asked him, begged him and down right threatened him to give them back to me or atleast tell me what happened to them.  No suck luck.

Needless to say I miss my Hallmarks more than I miss him...that stupid ***hole >:(
