Isn't the "parents" part of the title sorta implied, since children sorta need parents?  ;D  Just playin'.

Some thoughts...

A)  Seems like mama eagle is getting ready to hork some partially digested rodent-burger into the little one's mouth.  Now that would have been a Kodak moment.

B)  I am so glad our national bird isn't the turkey.

C)  I dare not say anything negative about your mama so I'll just say that she looks rather majestic in that picture ;D  You, on the other hand, need to behave, young eagle!  ;)  Sit down and show some manners in that nest, or no rodent-burger for you!  :D

Yes, I'm bored.

Okay, this is what I don't get... Why does America get a majestic, empowering eagle as a symbol that catches fish all day and Canada has nothing but a funky little loon that swims around hooting?  ??? ;D

Mom does resemble former Attorney General Madeleine Albright and did serve meals in a non-conventional manner.

You think that's bad? We got a stupid-looking macropod and a big, dumb-looking flightless bird! And a horrible flag!

I was just wondering Goreripper - what sort of flag would you like for Australia?  I'm only asking cos I hate our flag too - but I have no idea what sort of flag we should have ???

What do you think?

Ths strongest, simplest design would be a golden sun on a band of red and a band of black. But that one's taken, so I'd change the black to, um, green.

I'm PROUD to be Canadian!

ShellyGal, obviously you have never awoken on a beautiful sunny day, at a nice quiet calm lake and heard the sound of a loon in the distance...there is nothing more relaxing and beautiful...

Nope. But I am proud. I just don't get why US has a nice macho bird and we don't. Meh.

FYI- The great statesmen Benjamin Franklin was pushing for the turkey for our national bird.  I'm glad he wasn't listened to on this occasion. ;)

Somehow, our symbol of national pride and honour is a droopy-eyed, drooling mutt with huge teeth...

...but, there you are - some people DID elect him as Prime Minister!

The Loon is a good choice for Canada's national bird. If we changed it to a stronger bird, it wouldn't fit in with our other national animals such as the beaver and caribou which are not known to be especially strong or magestic.

And anyway, the Loon has given Canadians a new word: the Loonie!  ;D

If he was listened to, Americans would be eating their national bird every Thanksgiving! That would be weird...
