Subject: Parts Of Songs That You Can't Stand
I'll give a couple examples:
In Madonna's "Music", I hate when she repeats the word "music" over and over!
"music, music, music, music, music, music, music, music, music, music..." AUUGHH!
Also, in "Total Eclipse of the Heart", I always think Bonnie Tyler is going to break out in a fit of coughing when hitting the high notes.

There's a song by a 70's band...I think it might be Emerson, Lake & Palmer...that really grates on me. The song, I believe, is called "I'm Your Captain" (but I could be wrong). Anyway, toward the end of the song the singer keeps repeating the line "I'm getting closer to my home" over and over again. It goes on for a long time until the song finally fades, and it's very irritating.
Another part of a song that I can't stand is in Stacey Q's "Two Of Hearts". The part is where she stutters "I-I-I-I-I-I need, I need you". This one is particularly annoying to me. >:(

awesome song, but the transaction from the bridge to the churus affects me...lots, because it just doesnt flow as good
"Cry"-Faith Hill
the bridge is irritating! the one word line, "yeah" held out for way too long, and changed octaves drastically by the end...it also doesnt flow with the rest of the song...
"Janies got a gun"-Aerosmith
just the intro, and the never ending suspence of when the actual song is gonna start
"Braun-y-aur Stomp"-Zepp
the entire song scares the heck out of me...I could never explain why...probably just because its unlikely of Zeppelin to use so many instruments that aren't guitars...

In the Smiths song, 'Miserable Lie', the first bit is really good then, err, 'noise' kicks in and it's awful imo!!
I love the intro to 'Maniac' from the Flashdance soundtrack, but the verses are terrible! The chrous picks up slightly - but not much!
I love the slow bit in the Sugababes song 'Round Round' (Does it hurt when you see how I've done, without you...), whereas the faster bits are a bit of a let down!
I can only listen to a remix of Rockwell and MJ's, 'Somebodys Watching Me', which repeats the chorus (I always feel like somebodys watching me, oooh...) beacuse I can't stand the rest of the song! It's a good dance version - I do aerobics with the kids at work to it sometimes!

I know what you're talking about. Can't even understand him! ::) There are other songs where the singer is talking at the beginning but at least you can understand them and it's not annoying. ;D

LOL My brother and I can't stand them either but we call them dramatic pauses. The worst one was in "I will always love you" by Whitney Houston. There is a loooooooong silence before she kills your ears with the drama-filled part of the song

'Why?' by Bronski Beat. The high pitched squeal at the end.
A bridge in 'Jump' by Pointer Sisters. The synth goes hi-pitched in the middle. AARRGGHH! What is frustrating is the song is great.
Crash Test Dummies - 'Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm'. Musically the song is brilliant but what the heck is it about?
