Subject: This weekend

Written By: CatwomanofV on 08/08/03 at 11:48 a.m.

This weekend is the Jethro Tull concert that we have been looking forward to seeing for awhile now.  ;D It will be at a casino in Conn. (Of course, since it will be at casino, it was a matter of arm twisting to get us to sit at a Let It Ride table  ;))We will be leaving tomorrow morning. The concert is Sunday night and we will be coming back on Monday. So, that means that we will not be here this weekend (which I'm sure will make certain people very disappointed  ;)). Hopefully, we will come back richer than we are now. We will fill you in on all the details on Monday (which may include a birth).

We are now home safe and sound and our wallet is a lot lighter.  :(  I do have to say that this weekend was just a bit of a disappointment. First of all, the casino was VERY greedy. There were only 6 Let it Ride tables and at first they were all $15 minimum. Then on Sat. night, the rates went up to $25. (We still played the $15 since we were there before they raised it) Every table was full and no one was winning (except the house) so they would deffinately make their money but they just wanted more. I won all of two hands the entire evening. We both lost our @$$es.

The next day, the tables were back to $15. DC decided not to play but I did. This time I did manage to win a few more hands but small ones. I still lost. We decided to go play the slots for a bit. We should have done that all day because we had much better luck with the slots than we did at Let it Ride. We each were playing $10 and between the two of us, we won $40. I really hated to leave the hot machine I was playing but the it was time for the concert.

I must admit that I was a bit disappointed in the concert too. Ian Anderson put on a fabulous show and the music was great but the sound was awful. The bass was up way too much and it made it hard to hear-even when he was just talking. The acrustics in the place was really bad. The seats were very uncomfortable. The people who were sitting behind us, walked out shortly after they started playing. We have no idea why. One thing that was good, since we were up in "nose-bleed central" and we did have our binoculars, they also had two big screens that they televised what was happening on stage. That helped a bit. And I did get my tee shirt.  ;D

We have made several decisions in the last 24 hours. First of all we will NEVER go to another concert there again. Also, we probably won't go back to that paticular casino again. If we do go down that way again, we will go to the other casino that is there. We will also NEVER do it on a weekend. The hotel rates were such a difference from Sat to Sun night. (There was another hotel in the area, the difference was $100 from one night to the next) I just can't believe the greed of these people. They are going to get my money anyway-just let me have fun with it first.

Well, that basically sums up "What we did on our summer vacation." Hopefully, our next trip will be better.

Oh Yeah. Edited to add-No news about the baby yet.
