Living in Vermont, I can't run in CA, but my dad lives there, and I offered to finance his getting on the ballot.  He's an 83 year old reformed Republican, who in his old age has become quite the liberal.  Socially he always was.  A guy with German/French ancestors who married a Puerto Rican woman and had many black friends, and this in the '40s and '50s.  Like Howard Dean, though, he is a straight shooter, an honest guy, and a good person.  He'd make a  great Governor.  He said NO WAY JOSE.  ;)

There is a wonderful line from the movie 1776 that goes:

"I have come the conclusion that one useless man is called a disgrace. Two became a law firm and three or more become a congress."  ;)

If I was in California, I'd run. I'd run all the way to the east coast, and keep running.
