I have recenlty seen a video of a remake of "Boys of Summer" by the Ataris. It is very harder rock than Don Henley's original version. How many of you have heard this song?

I haven't actually heard The Ataris' version, though I do own the DJ Sammy version. Naturally, I love the original...

I like Don Henley's version! Even though, Ive never heard the Atari's version...::)

This is one of the few covers where I think they are both awesome. They did the original justice, but made it their own ;)

It's really the same melody, it's just that Don Henley's is a little slower than The Ataris.'

I prefer the Ataris' version of Skid Row's "I Remember You."

I also have DJ Sammy's version in my CD collection. It's on my Now 54 CD. Don Henley's version is OK.

while I prefer Don henleys version hands down, the Ataris version is pretty good...It still pretty much to the original, and is only a little faster..I just wish that they didnt change the line:
"I saw a Dead Head sticker on a Cadilac" to "I saw a Black Flag Sticker on a cadilac"..somehow I dont see Black Flag fans driving Cadilacs.......
oh, and Ive already enlightened someone on this song...I was drivving around in my car with my friend, and the Don HEnley version came on the radio on the Classic rock station (Q104.3) and my friend said "Wait, Q plays the Ataris? {pause} wait, this isnt the Ataris....someone did it before them?"

So far Don Henley is in the lead, The Ataris are second, and DJ Sammy is in last.

Don Henley's is best, IMO. :) And it's 80's! ;D 8)

Well lets think of it this way. The Atari's version is sweet, but for those hardcore 80's fan just look at their name....Does Atari ring any bells?

I heard it yesterday and I vote Atari's. I remember Don's original well and I like the quicker pace of of the new cover.

I like The Ataris' Version better. Don henley's Is good but It has a very simple drum beat.
