The acoustic version of You're Crazy, which is MILES better than the one on Appetite For Destruction. Used To Love Her, which is HILARIOUS.

You must give that album a chance. The tunes are alright, but these particular ones stand out as genuinely good (IMO, of course ;)):

"Patience"

"Used to Love Her" - You must have a sense of humor for this one, but I really like it. ;D

"You're Crazy" - Just as good as their first rendition of it, just different. I definitely like it.

"One in a Million" - Controversial in it's time, tame by today's standards; yet original. I can't help but like it, even if I don't agree with a couple of the ideas expressed.

Ben Folds Five's eponymous debut.  Fiona Apple's second album with the ridiculous title.

Many of these albums (Mothership Connection in particular) are among the most beloved albums of all time.

Thank you! I can play that LP on both sides, all the way through without skipping a tune. 8) It's nice to know someone else appreciates it as much as I do. :)

Britney Spears "Britney" (I'd write a looooong rant about that album and how I listen to it religiously, but I'll refrain)
Styx "Cyclorama"
Pink Floyd "Animals"
The Ghostbusters soundtrack  :P
Iron Butterfly "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida"
Styx "Greatest Hits"
Duran Duran "Greatest Hits"
Styx & REO Speedwagon "Arch Allies"
Charlie's Angles Soundtrack

Nelly "Hot in Herre" is an underrated song that I think deserves a lot more recognition.

I think my personal favorite album of all time, and one that doesn't get nearly enough credit, is Ben Folds Five's self-titled debut.  Not a single weak track, every song poignant, or hilarious, or just flat out excellent.

I haven't really heard too much about the Squirrel Nut Zippers.  I have a CD of their's..."Hot"...that is very good. Although they are of somewhat modern origins (just witness the name...lol), they have a jazzy 20's sound that is very catchy. I did one of their songs as a parody on here.

Here are a few that have probably dropped under most people’s radar:

1- Wayne Kramer’s “The Hard Stuff”
This 1995 offering was the first solo effort for the co-founder of Detroit’s legendary MC5.  This is from Ned Raggett’s review on the AllMusic web site:
“While it made sense that a label inspired by the punk ethic the MC5 helped found put out Kramer's first full-on solo album, in many ways The Hard Stuff sticks out like a sore thumb from the usual Epitaph fare — namely, because it's not interested in toeing a particular sonic line. Kramer's youthful obsession with soul power mixed with rough and ready noise, tempered by his older and wiser years but not lacking for a section of energy, makes for a great full-on rock & roll album. Certainly when one compares this work with the neutered slop his Detroit contemporary Ted Nugent was churning out in the late '80s and into the '90s, there's little question who chose to rest on laurels and who decided to jump into things full on….Kramer's lyrics take on the wreckage of America with compassion for those stuck at the bottom, but it's his wailing guitar work, direct and powerful, that demonstrates best of all how you can't keep a good man down. Hearing the perversely beautiful sludge/slow jam of "Junkie Romance," Kramer demolishing the heroin chic image with the eye of a weathered survivor armed with wit and compassion, or the spoken-word portrayal of an argument turned violent in "Incident on Stock Island" shows how his gifts are in full swing.”

2- Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley  “The Super, Super Blues Band”
Here’s Cub Koda’s snooty review from the AllMusic site:
“Featuring Bo Diddley stubbing his toe on a wah-wah pedal, Wolf and Muddy clearly ill at ease trying to sing songs they don't know and a super annoying female chorus giving out banshee shrieks approximately every 45 seconds, this is one very chaotic, untogether super session to try and wade through.”
This isn’t a polished album, and therein lies its strength.  How often do you get a chance to listen to a giant like Wolf or Water’s stretch their chops like this?  Yeah, fine, the songs aren’t polished, but the interplay between these three super egos make this one worth repeated listening.

3- Dirtball’s “Hillbilly Soul”
This is your typical jug band… wait, it’s more of a Southern Culture on the Skid-ish… no, it’s a trad bluegrass album except for that creepy song about the Scarecrow and the dude playing a trombone now and again.  I bought this in ’94 off an ad in the back of No Depression.

4- Michael Hurley’s “Wolfways”
Scruffy, raw and quirky.  The pick of the litter here are The Portland Water and Werewolf.

5- Roxy Erickson
If Hurley is quirky, Erickson is downright strange.  Busted for marijuana possession in the late ‘60s, Erickson had the choice of jail or incarceration in a mental institution, and he picked wrong.  His music is loud, raw and bizarre.  With titles like Two-Headed Dog, I Think of Demons, I Walked With a Zombie, and Bloody Hammer, you get an idea of what you’re in for.
This guy is a cranked up Marilyn Manson without the pose.  And, most surprising, a helluva musician.
