what was the first concert you ever went to?  the last one you went to?  (apologies if this topic was started before.

i went to my first concert last night: gavin degraw, michelle branch and sugar ray.  they're fifty times better live.  gavin was pretty good too.  michelle played acoustic though, so a lot of people just sat there like, "should we jump around or sit?"  (they sat.)  it was completely awesome, i'm still in shock. ::)

I went to my first, and only (I don't get out much) concert on August 29th 1988. It was Michael Jackson's Bad Tour at Roundhay Park in Leeds.

I got to sing Happy Birthday to him.........along with about 70,000 other people!

my first concert was when my Dad took me to see Roland Kirk. I think it was around '73-'74 - I was just a kid and I only remember it vaguely. My first rock concert  :P was when I saw the Monkees - well two of 'em anyways. The last concert I went to was No Doubt/Lit in Santa Barbara, CA.

My first concert was a Toys for Tots concert in December of 1979, at The Omni in Atlanta.  The Village People and Andy Gibb were the only acts there that I really remember liking at the time.  Other acts included Melissa Manchester and Tom Johnson of the Doobie Brothers.

The last concert I saw was KISS in 1996, again, at The Omni in Atlanta.  Great show!

I love the flower girl........

the last one I was at was in June at CBGB's.....I was there seeing my friend Brian's cousins band....they were pretty good..the other two bands I saw were better though......one of them was a mediocer band, but had an amazing bassist..serriously, this guy was almost better than some of the guys out there......plus the band had no gitar, it was just him on bass, a drummer and a keyboardist.....

the second band though was the highlight......it was this awful awful awful punk band, but they had something going for them.......they had 3 bellydancers, an accordian player, and on duel lead vocals a rapping 80 year old man wearing a Nathans uniform.......that was the best part,....this 80 year old man yelling out things in the middle of songs (most of them completely random) like "All hail Satan", or "Death tot he infidels!", and stuff like that...and then he was rapping (and he had a mouth like a sailor)........I wish I got their name, because even though the music was crappy, and they could barely play (sans the accordian player), they played the fact that they knew they were a joke...just like the Jsa Jsa's....lol...thats why they were good

Oh, I've been to plenty of concerts.  In fact, I have performed in lots of school concerts, ever since I was about five.

Now, if we're talking about REAL concerts, I haven't gone to one yet.

But yours sounded really fun--would've loved to see Michelle Branch and Sugar Ray (who's Gavin DeGraw?)!

The first concert I went to was Showaddywaddy.  I went with my dad and we saw them in Leicester, their home town.

The first concert I went to on my own was Duran Duran in about 1982.  It was a pretty good concert from what I remember.

Can't remember the last one I went to, I think it was The Stranglers in 90/91 or possibly Gary Glitter at about the same time.  He did a great Christmas concert every year.

First concert I ever went to was SLADE in 1974 at the soon to be demolished Brisbane Festival Hall :'(  If my memory serves me correctly my ticket cost $6 and it was a fantastic concert.

Can't remember the last concert I went to.  Think it may have been Billy Joel.  Four children keeps you fairly broke!!  My daughter wants me to take her to see Craig David in October.  Should be interesting.

The first concert I ever saw was Black Sabbath (like 98vfr), in 1978 at the Floral Hall Southport (UK - it's my hometown, a seaside resort near Liverpool).

I was never that big a fan of the Sabs but I was keen at the time on the opening act, Van Halen, who were just in the early days of their fame in Europe and still had Dave Lee Roth on vocals. They were absolutely brilliant live and, IMHO, they blew Black Sabbath off the stage.

The last gig I went to was S Club 7, supported by S Club Juniors, at the Manchester Evening News arena a couple of months ago, with my eldest daughter and 4 of her friends. How times change eh?

Before that the last REAL gig I went to was PJ Harvey in Manchester nearly 2 years ago.

The very first gig I went to was a Spice Girls one at the Birmingham NEC on 6th May 1998. Two years later I visited the same venue to see Steps on my 13th birthday. I can now look back at the two Steps concerts I've been to because I've got their Greatest Hits book and a programme from when I saw them on their last ever tour in Cardiff on 16th December 2001.

I first saw Boyzone at the NEC in December '96. My god - looking back that's quite sad!! :) Ahh well, I loved them at the time, although now I can't see the fascination. The music just isn't as memorable as other British boy bands like Take That and East 17.
