Subject: Coca-Cola Beats Pepsi In Sales And Class

Written By: RockandRollFan on 09/06/03 at 03:04 p.m.

The battle has raged here before but never has it covered the advertising. pepsi ALWAYS cuts down Coke.  It's not necessary for Coke to stoop down and demean the competition....pesi has never, does not and never will have "Class"....

Enjoy Coca-Cola!

Given that I believe that they both have their relative merits, I generally split the difference and drink Lemonade instead.

I was focusing more on the ad campaigns and not so much the taste of the beverages...but I do like lemonade :D

The only lemonade I like is mike's hard lemonade.  Pepsi sucks and coke rocks!  I mean that when it comes to taste, advertising, and everything!

It's nice to hear from a young person who likes Coca-Cola better  :D and in a recent issue of People there's a picture of Britney Spears walking on the beach holding a can of Coke :)

Strange enough, I like Pepsi in a can better than Coke in a can.  However, I like Coke better from a fountain (or tap) than Pepsi from a fountain.

I can't say I like the recent Pepsi adventising with B. Spears. I liked the Pepsi commercials with that little girl (I forget her name, but she played "Little Miss" in the movie "Bicentennial Man") some years ago. Does Coke even have commercials throughout the year anymore though? I only recall Coke having Christmas commercials.  ???

Pepsi comes in your water fountains and sinks??  What country do you live in?  That's just weird.  ???

That pepsi girl is so annoying!!  One of the many reasons why pepsi sucks.

Coke is so cool that they don't need comercials.

Yes, Coca-Cola has commericals... I see them frequently.

I think that jesuisunpizza meant fountain drinks, like the stuff that is mostly watered down, like the machines you get pop from when you go to a fast food place.

Subject: Re: Coca-Cola Beats Pepsi In Sales And Class

Written By: Wicked on 09/06/03 at 09:27 p.m.

Oh, that would make a lot more sense!  :)

I haven't seen a Coke comercial in a very long time.

Subject: Re: Coca-Cola Beats Pepsi In Sales And Class

Written By: Indy Gent on 09/06/03 at 09:35 p.m.

Pepsi may not have class, but they do have a better drink. Coke's sales are higher because of the underhanded subliminal campaign. Pepsi still is the Joy of Cola. ;D

P.S.: Coke is better with alcoholic drinks like rum or whiskey, but I don't drink alcohol that much anyway.

I'll only drink Coke if there is rum or whiskey with it, or if there is nothing but Coke products available. I should can the sodas altogether with my diabetes. But I don't have a taste for any of the juices or bottled water (flavored or unflavored).

And they should be alcoholic. Like SHANDY or Pimms & lemonade.

When did Coke do that??  If they did, pepsi has still ONLY cut down Coke for decades...I too hate the Mountain Dew commercials....and a case in point about pepsi is this....Vanilla Coke comes out and there is as usual, not a Word spoken about pepsi..then vanilla pepsi comes out and it shows 2 trucks side by side with the Coke guy turning up his radio...then the pepsi guy cranks out the huge speakers and all the CRAP I have to listen to when I'm out driving or trying to have a nice quiet time at home...it's just showing more kids that noise pollution is "Cool"...I liked my Rock & Roll Music back in the day...and still do, but I respect others who may not share the same taste...or lack thereof ::)  Don't Worry, Indy....I respect that you like pepsi better ;)

No, Rock, I didn't find your comments condescending at all, and I do respect for choice of Coke. However, I do not drink much Coke, and I shouldn't be drinking any regular soft drinks because of my diabetes. But given the choice of the two, I'd rather drinking Pepsi because IMHO, it tastes better, not because of questionable advertising tactics. But from now on, I'll watch my consumption of sugary soft drinks. ;)

There has been a highly annoying commercial where there are two truck drivers; each driving their delivery of soft drinks. They both come to a stop at a light. One truck is Coke and the other Pepsi.

The Coke delivery guy turns-on the radio and plays classic rock and is pretty content.

Then, the Pepsi delivery guy reveals speakers attached to the truck and turns-on today's brand of rap music and the truck begins to bounce to the beat, completely drowning out the "older generation" tune.

Then, as if to be believed, the Coke delivery guy becomes impressed with it all. ::) :P

Personally, I don't have anything much against today's brand of rap music. I generally just think most of any and all genres of music lack the originality of yesteryear.

However, I could understand how some of the "older generation" see that commercial as a slap in the face by the newer generation.

It speaks volumes in reference to today's society.  :-/

I think Pepsi should refrain from disrespecting the "older generation" in their future advertising.

As far as Pepsi attempting to demean Coke, they'll never succeed. Their attempts are transparent.

Always Coca-Cola! :D 8)
