Subject: sunglasses - can you help?

Written By: the_OlLine_Rebel on 09/15/03 at 11:09 a.m.

I used to buy these cheap sunglasses (I always buy cheap, anyway) during HS that I loved.  I wish I could find a pix of them.  I have no idea what the brand was or anything.  I'd like to find some and buy them again - esp. for an '80s repertoire.

Forgive me for not knowing much about glasses terminology; I'll try my best....

Anyway, they were made in the mid- to late-80s, were cheap, frameless/rimless, alot like goggles but w/o the over/under wraps.

They were most like these Solarshields:  http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3430134406&category=15736&rd=1

But, they weren't as huge and were much straighter in all lines and flatter (no over/under features).

The front/lenses were closer in shape to these Oakleys:  http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2856470849&category=15666&rd=1

Again, these were completely frameless, like the Solarshields; there were only 3 pieces to it:  lense, right and left arms.

I also only recall smokey black and brown as the available colors.  I'm pretty sure, too, they came out before the more goggles-like Solarshields.

Any1 have any idea what brand, and/or if they had a name?
