Subject: VH1's One Hit Wonder-Blunders

Written By: RockandRollFan on 11/24/03 at 10:49 a.m.

Yesterday on VH1 they actually played some Music! Actually it was only snippets from one-hit wonders that THEY chose for a top 100.  What a crock....Twisted Sister was on there with "We're Not Gonna Take It" and yet they should never have been on the list since they had another hit AND viseo for "We're Not Gonna Take It." Now maybe it wasn't as high on the charts BUT there were plenty of other artists mentioned that had "One" hit but they added that the artist had a lower charting song later...IMHO VH1 doesn't do a very good job with accuracy....they SUCK ::) Does anybody else find this channel annoying and did you see the show yesterday?

No, I didn't see it yesterday, but I did see it last year. Lots of those performers weren't really one hit wonders. Men Without Hats, Ratt, Quiet Riot, the list goes on. :( They do need to do their research.  :P

:-/Their problem is for the most part, they seem to think music started in the 80s.If they would get some 50s stuff, they would find a lot of REAL one hit wonders!Cheers!

"Although this band had other hits, none of them lived up to this song." ::)

If it was supposed to be that way, it wouldn't be "one hit wonders".  It would be "one really popular song and a bunch of other little popular songs."

MTV2's done the same.  They called Fatboy Slim a 1-hit wonder with "praise you", even though he had other hits like Rockafeller skank(funk soul brother check it out now), and Weapon of choice.

They've really been slacking lately.  I still don't get why they chose Oprah Winfrey as the #1 Pop Icon of all time.

VH1's One Hit Wonder countdown debuted at least a year ago, if my thinking is correct. :P

yeah, vh1 recently decided to appeal to the younger genoration over the older one.  Remember the 100 greatest artists and songs and albums lists...those were satisfactory lists, but then they lost it all together.  With this 100 sexiest crap and with "Driven" and their version of "Cribs" and they stopped behind the music for a while.  What are they thinking?  People who were really pissed off were at the 100-greatest messageboards a lot talking of these lists...I know, I also preside there as a regular.

To add: I think Bow Wow Wow and the Watiresses were on there. Many of us know that both groups had at least two hits.  :-/ :-[ To those of us that don't know, it's kinda misleading.
