Subject: Anti-Drug Songs

Written By: BlooBerryMuffin76 on 11/30/03 at 09:00 p.m.

Songs that reveal the dark side of substance abuse:

Just Like a Pill---Pink
Kicks---Paul Revere and the Raiders
Let Her Cry---Hootie and the Blowfish
She's Come Undone---Guess Who

That's all I can think of for now.

Well I'm not sure if 'Just Like a Pill' is actually about drugs, but I can add:

'Suicide Solution' - Ozzy Osbourne
'Master of Puppets' - Metallica
'White Lines' - Grandmaster Flash

Actually I think Martika had more than one hit, but this thread isn't about that. :)

Of course, there's "Cocaine" by Derek and the Dominos

I'm not a rap person, but "White Lines (Don't Do It)" by Grandmaster Flash -
"Twice as sweet as sugar, twice as bitter as salt
And if you get hooked, baby, it's nobody else's fault, so don't do it!"

Seems kind of wholesome compared to modern rap, doesn't it?

Actually the "Cocaine" popularised by Clapton was written and recorded originally by JJ Cale.
