Subject: Are UFO's real? Note: I don't work for the Gov.LOL

Written By: annieox03 on 12/08/03 at 10:30 p.m.

Does anyone believe that UFO's exist?

It's a controversial subject
if you do, your crazy
if you don't, your nieve.

My stand...sure why not. Otherwise, how could the Indies have the cadlestick or the art that can only be viewed by the sky.

This should be interesting. :o

I'm sure that, by probability, we can't be the only planet in such a large universe capable of supporting at least one sort of life form. They may not have discovered space travel, or they may not want to visit Earth (couldn't blame them!) so the UFOs we see may not be aliens. But I'm sure they're out there. If there isn't another planet in the entire universe that supports carbon-based life, there might be a planet that supports silicon-based life. You never know!

This has been explained many times. In fact the task has been replicated without the use of aircraft.

I believe in life on other planets; I don't believe any alien life forms have visited the Earth.

UFO's are most definitely real, this is a globally accepted fact.  There are many well documented instances around the World of flying objects that have not been formally identified by civil or military air authorities.

The debate however on the source and nature of these UFO's is however much more subjective and depends on your opinion as to whether alien life forms exist or not. Most UFO sightings are explained by air authorities as weather phenomena, planets, comets, weather balloons, etc. etc. This is not the same as a formal identification.

Call me Mr. Pedant, sure.  ::)

I should have been more specific. UFO's yes Aliens, not really sure, other life elsewhere Yes.

I live in New York and can tell you that even if there were aliens here, we wouldn't realize!  I saw this really wacky creature yesterday who hardly even passed notice and only generated a few chuckles.   ;D

I believe in UFO's and aliens, why not?  Aliens are rad.  Earth isn't that special, so there has to be other planets with stuff on them.

Im on the fence for this one...

I mean, its completely il-logical...there is no evidense of any planet in our soler system having some form of life on it

but then again:

Rosewell, New Mexico, 1949...the Goverment is attempting to cover something up.  Are these beings dangerous?  They just may be real...

I personally find it far easier to believe in the unknown out there and feel it would be stupid of me to think we were one of a kind.  The universe and its surrounds are just too big for us to think we know everything about it already.

And I am always fascinated by evidence of Aboriginal and Egyptian art (among others) that feature items they cannot possibly have thought of 40,000 years ago if they hadnt physically seen it first.

I am a partial sceptic.  I dont necessarily believe the thousands of alien abduction storys out there - tho I have read some extremely convincing ones.  But at the same time - I witnessed something as a child that has terrified me for my entire life - and am unable to explain its logic.

But you aint gunna see me standing up and admitting it at a "Aliens R Us" workshop !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dad is the same - he is a big sceptic - but he saw what I saw (as did my entire family) back then.  Same as he refuses to admit ghosts exist - but he readily admits to seeing one in our home back in the early 80's.  He laughs that its hard to remain a sceptic when the evidence is standing in front of you !!!

I don't believe Earth is the one and only planet in the entire great, vast universe with the conditions to support life; nor do I believe we are the only intelligent and capable beings to exist. There are many galaxies out there beyond our scope.

UFOs are well documented, but are still mysteries.

Do I believe they're navigated by beings not of this particular world? It's plausible. Why not?

The entire concept of Extraterrestrials is quite fascinating. :)

I would - If only I knew who Brian Maddox was !!!!

Hmmmmmmmmmm  its a thing I have yet to reveal to the WWW world.  Actually I have probably told like 3 friends in my whole life.

oh what the heck.

For many many yars I assumed what I remembered was a dream.

From 1968 to 1974 we lived in a caravan and we moved towns every couple of weeks for dads work (he hooked up telephone lines and switchboards etc for towns).  Mum would drive the valiant and tow the caravan and dad would be up ahead driving the 5 tonne truck.  Anyway - this "event" happened when I was about 4.  We were driving between towns way out in the middle of no where and were about 300km from any town in any direction.

Mums story is:  a light had been following her for hours.  It was just a bit too high up off the road to have been a vehicle and it stayed an exact distance behind her the whole time - she slowed right down and sped up etc  but it stayed the same distance away.  So eventually she sped up and caught up with dad and signalled to him to pull over for the night.  So they set up camp and mum watched for the light - there was only one road and if it was a vehicle it would have had to eventually drive past.  It didnt.

My memory:  I woke up in the middle of the night in the caravan.  My brother and I slept in bunk beds that went across the width of the van with windows at each end.  I looked out the window and felt that I could see dad outside pumping up the trucks tyres with the big T shaped air pump.  I felt that I could see the moons reflection on the metallic surface of the T going up and down.  So I got out of bed and went to mums bed at the other end of the van (it was a 32 foot van).  I said "mum why is dad out pumping up the tyres", she said "he isnt, silly, he is right here, see. now get back in bed".  So I went back to my bunk and again looked out the window.  Coming towards the window were a great crowd of naked "children" - they were peering in and beckoning me to come outside.  I pulled the curtains closed and probably eventually fell asleep.

Ever since then I have not been able to sleep in a room where the bed in near or under a window, nor had a window left open at night.

Later when Close Encounters was released and I saw it at the drive in - I said to myself "there are the same children".  I never told anyone about it.  Not a soul.

Then one night a couple of years ago mum and I were drawing a time line of all our travels back in those days - I was trying to work out where we had been where certain childhood memorys occured - so we sat and drew up a chart of all dads jobs and the towns we lived in and filled it in with events and memories.  I asked mum about nights where we would have slept by the road instead of a town and she was remembering dates in her head.

Suddenly she says "oh we slept by the road the night I couldnt get away from that light" and I said - did I get out of bed looking for dad that night and she said yes you did, you kept insisting dad was outside and you wouldnt go to sleep because you thought children were there to take you away.  So we told each other our memories and it all fit together.  She said she looked outside and didnt see the children - but she saw the light nearby still.

so - it feels a bit weird to type it all out for the first time.  Strange - cos when I have discussed the various ghosts in our homes it doesnt bother me at all.  But this has always freaked me out more than ghosts and I have always found it easier not to discuss it.

Yet I am fascinated by books on the subject etc.  I just dont read them at night cos it wakes up memories and I dont sleep !!

Here's how I feel about UFO aliens and the humans who love them too much: http://home.onemain.com/~nospamtoday/abducted.htmlThere's a comment at the bottom with my opinions about the possibility of them visiting us.
If they did, I'll bet those little space bastards could give us the correct lyrics to the six-note wonder from Close Encounters...

BrianMannixGirl, that was so fascinating. I have had simular events happen but due to the weirdness of the topic, never talked about it. My kids also have memories of little kids talking to them without opening their mouths.

Life is strange indeed.

Blimey, that is amazing.
I wonder... If aliens have come to Earth, why haven't they told anyone? Why do they just keep popping up around the place and being spotted by the odd few people once in a while?
Hmm... maybe they're doing what they do in Star Trek- examining the planet to see if it's safe to make First Contact with us. We have to assume a certain level of intelligence if they have space travel... Unless they've been dumped here by another alien species and they're actually rather dim. They might be another species's pets. Like if we sent a pod full of cats to another planet...

What a lot of possibilities.
