At the tender age of 6 I became obsessed with the song "More,More,More(How do you like it, How do you like it) by the Andrea True Connection(??)

I would pay a million dollars to again see my mom's face when I asked her to by me the album.

Back around kindergarden, my first favorite song was Red Hot Chili Peppers "Under The Bridge". If I say so myself, I had pretty good taste back then. ;D ;D

Hmm, well this is shameful! It was Fergal Sharkey's, 'A Good Heart' at the tender age of 2! This is what my mum says anyway. Apparently she had to record it off Top Of The Pops, just so I could listen to it! And I still have that video ;D

When I got a bit older, I used to constantly play The Bangles 'Eternal Flame' (still one of my all-time favourite love songs) and anything by Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan.

I was in junior high when it came out. I like it too, but I don't know that I would consider it one of my favorites.  :)
The first song that I would consider a personal favorite of mine was probably something by the Beach Boys.

In Kindergarten, I remember playing an entire 60's compilation CD every day before leaving for school simply to hear one song: "Poetry in motion"-Johnny Tillson...now a days, IMO, the songs not that great, but at least I had the right genre in mind...

I also remember liking "Big Shot"-Billy Joel when I was young...I always used to laugh at the "wake up in the morning with your head on fire" line...

Hey-me too. I had a 60s compilation cassette that I constantly played around the age of 6 or 7. But for me, the song on constant repeat was 'Runaway' by Del Shannon. Ooh - and 'You Don't Have To Say You Love Me' by Dusty Springfield. And 'Say A Little Prayer' by Aretha Franklin. I guess I'm gonna have to go find that old cassette now!

First song I can remember really getting into would probably be "Eight days a week" by the Beatles; first one I bought with my own money was "The Combine Harvester (brand new key)" by the Wurzels - starting a bit of a trend in my music tastes, I must admit ;-)

Fred didn't exactly answer the question but rather avoided the sad state of history.
We know Fred-- if you are now "thirtyish" you were stuck in the 70's growing up with music some of us wish to forget.
The first favorite songs I remember liking was the music from the bar scene from Star Wars. haha. I think it was just before they meet Jabba the Hutt.  And then there was
Van Halen's "running with the devil". my parents were 29, I was 4, what do you expect?  And I also am very attached to Fleetwood Mac's: Rumours-the full album.
