Or certificates, I wish my family members had given me money or a check instead.

I prefer getting them then I can spend it any way I want.I prefer giving them as gifts then I know Im not wasting money or time buying something they might not like.

I agree.  I love getting and giving gift cards.  I would prefer buying what I like rather than having someone guess at what I might like.

I don't really hate getting gift cards, but they're kinda boring...but I sure would rather get a gift card than something scary!  I got quite a few gift cards, they are very popular these days!

No!  I love these!  They are easy to carry around in your wallet or pocket, small, and easy to use.  And can be worth a LOT of money ;D  They are fun.  I love getting these, especially for places like Target or Barnes and Noble. :)

I like them.  And usually you don't have to spend it all at that store.  A lot of places let you buy one thing and then get change back.

No!! They're actually one of my favorite kinds of gifts. They're actually a blessing because they're practical, and I like giving them out also. Unlike selected purchases, there won't be any chance of finding out that the receiver already has it or actually hates it. And unlike money, it looks like there's been more thought put into the gift.

It's funny, in Spain they are not fashionable at all.  U either get some money or u get gifts, :D but gift cards? :o They r just not trendy around here.Interesting to see it's the other way round in the rest of the world... ::)

I like them if they are from my favorite stores.  :)

I just rarely use them. I mean, in 2000 for Christmas my uncles gave me gift cards for Best Buy, and I didn't use them until a year later. The last time I used one of them was two months ago, when my mom and I went there to buy a laptop for my dad for Christmas. I don't go to Best Buy very frequently.

And I still have a Borders gift card for $25 that I got for Christmas in 2001 that is still unused. (Two months later, I bought something there, but with a gift certificate that was older.)

You might want to make an effort to use these ASAP.  Many companies are starting to "charge" you for not using the cards in a specified amount of time. ::)
