Subject: Heaven-Anyone feel like Doubting Thomas

Written By: Andrew-CoolestDude on 02/23/04 at 04:06 p.m.

I feel like Doubting Thomas in the Gospel of John,
unless I see the Beauty of Heaven firsthand, only then will I truly be convinced,

According to this Baptist Fundamentalist Tract(Which believes Jesus is the Only way)  we will know each other in Heaven(recognize each other) and we will know about things happening on Earth.
Because, many Christians agree with me in that their is no future for this world.

I couldn't picture Heaven, without the hobbies and Interests of Earthly life, not just SEX, Jesus said he goes to make "Many Mansions" It would be cool if I had my own Huge House in Heaven and share it with "Pam"
See my post on 2000's messageboard, "this girl I like, the pain I feel"
It would be great if all human beings that ever lived were to be reconciled to God and all other human beings(Universalism) and love each other as God's Creations.

I just hope all my Earthly Possessions are in Heaven, kind of like Re-Materialized

I did feel like "Doubting Thomas" at one time. Of course, eventually, I became agnostic altogether - I spent hours worrying and thinking about religion and stuff, and decided that life is too short to worry about that kind of stuff. To be honest, I think that once you die, you're dead. It would be kind of nice to think that there is rebirth in the human form, but as much as I'd like to believe it, I think that it's unexplainable and therefore I can't have full confidence in that belief. This goes back to "Doubting Thomas" - I'm not able to believe solely on faith. I want proof. I found that many arguments in favor of religion were simply propaganda and "this isn't true, so therefore this must be" without considering a third (or fourth or fifth...) option.

I have a lot of opinions on religion and Heaven and all of that stuff that I just can't fit into this post.

I feel like you do Junior and have gone through it in my head as well. I have the need to validate my beliefs with evidence and when I don't come up with the perfect formula it just confuses me even though I want to believe.

I tend to put these matters in the back of my mind.
