Subject: So embarrassed...I need you other ladies' help!

Written By: QueenAmenRa on 02/29/04 at 12:14 a.m.

Ok keep your socks on I'm about to tell y'all something pretty personal:
Ok, I've always been noted for having pretty good-sized boobs...but I thought I was normal.  Recently I was like, hmm, I need some new bras.  So yesterday me and my sister went bra shopping and I discovered that I NO LONGER FIT A C-CUP! Although, there are some D's I tried on that I couldn't quite fill, most D-cups gave me much better coverage.  I DIDN'T THINK I EVEN LOOKED THAT BIG!!!  I didn't buy any bras cuz its just so embarrassing to LOOK at a D-cup and realize that I fit that.
Another personal thing: I think the main reason I'm fitting a D is cuz I'm sagging.   :-[   What's something I can do (besides breast reduction or some "miracle pill") that will help?

The simple answer is lose weight. That is the first place where a woman loses. I went the opposite. About 6 years ago, I gained something like 20 lbs. Most people were really shocked to learn that I gained that much because you can guess where most of it went. So, I had to take a trip to Victoria's Secret.

Oh yeah that's another added problem:
I only weigh about 127. Actually I came to college weighing 135 and I've been losing weight like crazy and I don't like it!  I think I read somewhere that losing weight makes your boobs sag more.
Who knows, maybe I'll do some major working out and give my boobs so much lift I'll turn into Dolly Parton.   :-X  Oh God thats scary

The reason they are growing is probably age. Since I am getting older they have been growing too. I am also petite and they are the more obvious!! Mine are not sagging yet....bite my tongue. I do lift weights not to build but to tone and that helps keep them up. Learn to deal with them unless you want to go under the knife. I agree with Cat about Victoria's Secret, the best place to buy your unmentionables. ;D

Unfortunately the last time I went in there I discovered that they discontinued my bra. I said to the woman there, "Oh my god, I feel like Peg Bundy."

That is so funny. The great thing about it, if you purchase their undergarments and they rip or snag, you can return it for a new one free of charge. I did that to one that was a five in one and they gave me a new one, so the original $54.00 was worth it.

At least you can buy a bra off the rack.  I'm 5'9" and wear a 32E.

There is a common cheat for those of us who are just one cup size away from being able to buy off the rack -- go up to the next chest size, down a cup size and fasten at the smallest hook.  (For me, that would be a 34D.)  It won't fit as well as the correct size, but the patterns are very, very similar, so it'll be close.  Since it sounds like you might be at the small end of te D-cup spectrum,  you may actually find a style/brand in a C that does fit correctly.   (And if you have my luck, the company that makes it will promptly discontinue it, so you can't buy any more of them.)

If you're sagging, you may be able to gain some of your firmness back by wearing a good-supporting, good fitting bra that's designed for your frame,  day and night, except when bathing, for a period of months or years, (depending on how much you're sagging and damage to the connective tissues) while also remaining active such that you build and maintain the muscle to support them.  A lot of women are told to do this after they've finished breast feeding or have lost weight.

Even after you stop the 24/7 bra-wearing (or if you decide not to do that,) never go bra-less except to sleep, be intimate with someone and bathe and make sure you wear only bras with good underwire support.

When shopping for swimwear, try to get one-piece and/or bikini tops wih hidden floating underwire bras and that you order by bra size -- if you can find them.  I'm pretty sure the latest Victoria's Secret catalog had a couple.  They're more comfortable than regular suits and they look much better on -- much better than those useless "shelf bra" things that offer no real support, wear out quick and, even at their best, give us that oh-so-attractive uniboob look.

Don't be embarassed.   It's not like you get big boobs as a punishment for doing something bad and lots of girls pay big bucks to get what we got for free.   Also, don't be afraid to discuss your concerns, questions, worries, etc. with your OB-GYN... they're perfectly normal concerns and believe me, they've all seen and heard far worse than a woman concerned about keeping her body in its best shape as she matures.

CRAP!!  I didn't know that.  I have had so many underwires "pop out" it's not even funny.  Looks like someone's gonna be saving those puppies from now on ;)  Do you need to keep the receipt or anything?

Oh, and about the only way you can keep them from sagging is to exercise and build the muscle underneath.  Or, get a "lift" done. ;)

I have the same problem with the underwires. I don't put them in the dryer. I hang them up and they keep longer.

I don't know if I've ever gotten a bra from VS...they're just too damn expensive!!!  (The signature cotton v-strings are nice though)
Anyways, I always wear padded bras because I need support, and for as little nipple visibility as possible.  But anyways I'm DEFINITELY gonna start working out so I can firm up.
Hehe...you know what really makes me mad about this?  My bf always telling me "DAMN! You got huge boobs! What are they double D's?"  And I'm like  "No stupid, I'm only a C"....Well now I'll have to tell him he was...halfway right.  :D

If you've lost weight in your ribcage (you  mentioned that you've lost some weight), that can make the bras fit differently, as well.

It also applies for pantyhose, thigh highs, and panties. (although I do draw the line on panties).

Once you have had a VS bra and undergarments, you will cringe at having to buy them elsewhere. You will not find a better supporting bra.

Beware on your first visit though. I had a girl go into the back and show me how to properly put on a bra. EMBARRASSING :o.
All these years and I was putting it on wrong  ;D

Damn!  I love their panties.  I wear them until they are too scrungy to wear anymore.  Is there a time limit on the "replacements"?  I have some from a couple of years ago that are pretty "used" ;)

I would also suggest having them measure you.  My best friend did and realized she had been wearing the wrong size bra for umpteen years.

I probably shouldn't tell this story because it is a bit embarrassing but it is also funny. I always wear the VS panties-the ones with bascially a string connecting the front and back (NOT a thong-ewww). Anyway, a few years ago, we were in L.A. visiting my sister-in-law and father-in-law. My step-son and his finace were visiting also. All of us were in the middle of an "intense" poker game. I excused myself to use the bathroom. However, one of the strings on my panties broke. I had to go into the other room to change them. Even though it was a bit embarrassing I still thought it was funny and told everyone that my underwear broke. It could have been worse. It could have happened when I was out in public.  :o

That is funny Cat...I have never had a pair break, but then again I sort of favor thongs. I figure if natures puts the other ones there, I may as well put it there myself.LMAO.

I don't know about the time limit, you will have to check that one yourself, just call them. They are huge on customer satisfaction.

I've actually "broken" two pairs of underwear, but thank God I was at home both times.  They were both similar pairs: string bikinis with little rings on the "strings."  And they both broke the same way:  I was just taking them off so I could use the toilet and "chink!" A ring breaks in half, so I can't wear the panties anymore.  I was quite upset.
