Subject: Worst Cartoons of All Time

Written By: woops on 03/07/04 at 04:39 p.m.

Here's what I consider the worst 'toons of all time:  :P

25. My Life as a Teenage Robot http://www.nick.com/all_nick/specials/upick/images/img_myl.gif
Sounds like a cool premise, don't be fooled. Similar to "Whatever Happened To Robot Jones", but with corny jokes & storylines.
24. Smurfs
23. Cow & Chicken
Second rate "Ren & Stimpy"
22. Sealab 2020
Not to be confused with "Sealab 2021". This undersea saga is very boring.
21. Foofur
20. Dick Tracy Cartoon Show
The most politically incorrect 'toon of the '60's.
19. Rugrats
Whay is this the longest running cartoon on Nickelodeon? The babies are too cloying and I'd rather watch paint dry..
18. The Littles
17. Beverly Hills Teens
Well, a second rate version of "Archie"
16. 3 South
The worst MTV cartoon, besides "The Brothers Grunt", featuring two dimwitted guys like "Beavis & Butt-Head". Except that they're not funny like the nachos munchin' duo.
15. The Gummi Bears
OK, a cartoon based on candy. I like the candy, but I don't want to see "Skittles: The Series". Plus the overuse of the bouncing sound effect.
14. Kid Notorious
Very boring, cheesy. Even more pathetic, Hollywood is an easy target for parody.
13. Camp Candy
Late great John Candy's cartoon with him as a councellor of a camp. Would you be suprised if it wasn't funny?
12. Richie Rich
11. Fairly Oddparents
Two fairies, a spolied little boy, a crazy teacher= Only if Timmy Turner wished for cancellation.
10. Strawberry Shortcake
9. Stripperella
Pamela Anderson cartoon about a srtipper/super hero. Enough said.  :P
8. Captain Caveman
Looked more like Cousin It with it's nose sticking out than a caveman. Not to mention he always screws up and always making corny jokes.
7. Casper the Friedly Ghost
6. Baby Huey
5. The Wonder Twins
4. Care Bears
3. SpongeBob Squarepants
One of the most overhyped 'toons of today.
2. Hammerman/New Kids On The Block (tie)
Enough said. The Jackson Five cartoons were OK in the '70's. But MC Hammer & New Kids are just plain horrific, not to mention MC Hammer & New Kids' popularity came & went like a flash.
1. Scrappy Doo
Atleast he's not in the current cartoon nor the movie.  :D

What are some of your least favorite 'toons? And some you disagree from my list.

19. Rugrats
11. Fairly Oddparents
3. SpongeBob Squarepants

Meanwhile, I agree with most of the rest of your list.

not that Im defending the horrendously unfunny Kid Notorious, but Robert Evans is one of the most important producers currently in Hollywood.....

I think you can add to this list:
Bob and Margaret
and that other late night comedy central cartoon, I think its calld Mike and Joe or something

I agree on "Bob & Margaret" & "Gary & Mike", the second cartoon I think you're talking about.

There's a couple others I'd like to mention, but it would go on to 50 or more. Including Popples, Wuzzles, Pound Puppies, The Brothers Grunt, Invader Zim, the new Ren & Stimpy cartoon, Totally Spies, The Proud Family, Kim Possible, Pokemon, Da Mob, Street Sharks, Doug, Shirttales, Little Audrey, Herman & Catnip, Kissyfur, Bettlejuice, Raggedy Anne & Andy, Babie Looney Tunes, Yo! Yogi, Mucha Lucha, Powerpuff Girls, Monchichis, and Wish Kid.

I totally disagree with this.  I loved Captain Caveman and really all of the cartoons from the 60's and 70's.

I think G-Force was one of the worst cartoons ever.

Oh Cmon, where else could you find a cartoon where the Computer bad guy was simply named "Comp-U-Tor"

Roobarb & Custard was the epitome of "suck". Horrendous animation, almost non-existant storylines... Henry's Cat and The Family-Ness were awful too, for the same reasons.

Unfortunately, I remember those.

"Jem", her boyfriend's name was Rio.  :P (No offense to Duranies)
Atleast the guys from "Josie & The Pussycats" weren't named after popular songs.  ::)

Snorks, a rip off of the equally lame "Smurfs", but lived under the sea like another bad cartoon from today.

And I remember the "Ghostbusters" cartoon that was fun to watch. And the other, thankfully I vaguely remember.

Plus, I actaully watched "My Life as a Teeange Robot" for the second & last time. (on a marathon)  :P Quoting Mr. Horse from "Ren & Stimpy", "No sir, I didn't like it".  :P

Rob Renzetti, the creator of "My Life as a Teenage Robot" actaully directed good (and fair) cartoons like "2 Stupid Dogs", "Family Guy", and "Dexter's Laboratory". And created a horrible cartoon.  :-/  :P

I would have to say, any of Cartoon Network's original shows. They all look corny to me.  ::) :-/

MONSTER RANCHERS.
I cannot believe I forgot it earlier.
To those who haven't seen it...
You're the lucky ones.
It wants to be Pokémon
Or perhaps Digimon?
I can't tell.
'Tis a mish-mash of both,
With bad animation
And the villain is called
Moo.

1. Scrappy Doo

I hate anything and everything to do with Scooby-Doo for the following reasons:

Why'd they pick the name Scooby-Doo?! It sounds like a euphemism for something horrid.
That stupid dog shouts "Scooby-dooby-dooooooo" at the end of every episode; it makes me want to bash his face in with a tungsten-carbide lightweight clawhammer.
It gives 70's and 80's slang a bad name. I love using 80's slang, it's like, totally radical, dude. Decent shows like "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" employ it with panache and class, but Scooby-Doo seems to use it in a slightly satirical way, which annoys me.
The plots are weak and astonishingly similar.
Whenever the gang find a ghost, it's never really a ghost.
The characters' voices are thoroughly irritating.
Scrappy-Doo in particular should... just... be taken out and shot. I swear he was invented just to annoy me.
One of my friends is the spitting image of Shaggy and it freaks me out. He, of course, absolutely loves anything and everything to do with Scooby-Doo...

The newer cartoons on Nickelodeon (like Rocket power, new rugrats) are really just terrible, the original shows were half decent, or at least kind of good (except the angry beavers). The little kids shows like Sponge bob, the one with the octopus are super terrible! That grim show on Cartoon Network is really bad, plus most of the new cartoons, they're just so cliche, I seriously believe they've had that on a thousand shows!

What!?! You have the fairly oddparents in your list? Are you insane??? That show is hilarious. I think it's one of the best to appear as of late.  :P I do agree with Rugrats, though. Why it lasted so long still escapes me. And now they have a spin-off! As much as I hate to admit it, I LOVE Kim Possible.  :'( *Sniff* makes me recall those days of playin' pretend with me buddies.

I like Kim Possible as well. Ron Stoppable is  just brilliant- I love him. I mean, how many cartoon characters have a pet naked mole rat?

Rocket Power

simply a nerd, a showoff, a dumb guy, and...Reggie (The only decent one) doing sports, although the creator of the show also worked on Rugrats, which is an ok cartoon.

There's another bad cartoon from MTV, from  around 2000, with clones of Abraham Lincoln, Cleopatra, and John F. Kennedy in highschool. :P Though I, thankfully, don't remember the title.  :-/

Don't knock Robert Evans.  He's a way older comedywriter than me.  He gives me hope that I too can write for Comedy Central in another 30 years.

Likewise "Rugrats."  Can't complain too much about a show with theme music written by Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo.

My vote goes to "Space Ghost."  Have the old Ghost and his son come out of the closet yet?  Michael Jackson had a pet monkey too...
