Subject: laryngitis

Written By: Howard on 03/09/04 at 01:53 p.m.

I can't stand getting laryngitis. It seems like almost every year someone catches a cold, flu sore throat or laryngitis. It's hard to speak cause your trying to use your voicebox and it's painful to talk.I think it was about 4 years ago,I wound up with the flu.102 degree fever with a sore throat, stuffy head, stuffy nose, loss of hearing, blurry vision and aches all over.Let me tell ya,laryngitis sucks. You constantly have to make yourself hot tea with honey & lemon, hot soup, drink plenty of fluids to keep the mucus clear instead of this thick green yellowish sputum that you cough up & always blowing your nose.Sometimes, you just wake up & it's there but you have no control.just learn to live day by day and it will pass through your system.I know for one thing, colds don't last forever! :)

Ah man. That can be pretty tough. Get yourself a lovely woman to look after you, Howard. That'll make you feel better.  ;)

It would be better for his throat too, 'cause he would not get a word in edgewise anyway.  :P

Please don't!  That is horrible on your voice.  And the worst thing you can do for your voice in this condition is whisper.  Believe it or not.  Everybody says "you have a sore throat/cold/laryngitis/whatever, so whisper."  But that will mess you up even more.

8)He's right! It's a very bad idea. And what good would it do to talk if you're hardly audible?A lady who works at Longs used the pencil and paper method.(she didn't have anything  contagious)If people were illiterate, too bad!Cheers!

What I did yesterday is that I bought Throat Spray and drank 2 cups of hot tea with lemon and at night I drank some Robutussin Cherry! :P So,right now,I'm feeling little better and the laryngitis is going out of my system slowly but surely then,I'll feel better completely! ;D
