Subject: A "Dark Side of the Moon"/"Wizard of Oz" project

Written By: woops on 03/10/04 at 01:45 a.m.

Remember the eerie combination of playing Pink Floyd's album "Dark Side Of The Moon" with the Judy Garland movie "Wizard of Oz"?

Well, it can be done in other forms.

I've got a great advice from the IMDB that "Mr. Roboto" (Styx) can be played during "My Life As A Teenage Robot", and the unfortunately canned "Whatever Happened To Robot Jones".

1. There's action
2. The main character is a robot

Though I loathe the cartoon, but took a laugh at it.
Who knew a bad cartoon mixed together from a cheesy song from one of the greatest bands from the '70's would make a good combination.  :D

The other day I was thinking about asking Cat (I think it was) whether she had ever got round to listening to the Dark Side of the Moon whilst watching Wizard of Oz.  Did the timings of the songs really fit that well?

I think it is time for somebody to do a "cover version" of Dark Side of the Moon.

Britney Spears, perhaps?  I hear that she has lots of lyrical content.  :P

They kind of do. Here is a website that explains what to do, and how to look for the "synch" clues. http://www.everwonder.com/david/wizardofoz/ By the way,I also heard that some people can "synch" an album by the Canadian rock group Rush,I think its title is "2112", with the movie "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". Some other people start playing "Dark Side of the Moon" a second time, since "Dark Side" ends before "Oz" does. They re-cue it after Dorothy taps on the Tin Man's chest. Interesting stuff.  Thanks for the memories! Sincerely,Steve.

Well, I finally got the CD but never did get a chance to check it out. I really should do that one of these days.

a few items...

The DSOTM/WoZ phenomenon is bit of fun, even if merely a coincidence. Try also playing "Wish You Were Here" at the point the DSOT album ends to continue the cycle.

An extraordinary sync can be found with Pink Floyd's "Meddle" album and Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining". Start your CD player the moment the opening credits scroll over the overhead shot of the Colorado mountain roads. Set your CD on Repeat to allow the CD to play 3 times as the movie progresses.

As to DSOTM covers  ;D :o:
