Subject: Celebrity connections...again...

Ok I'm pretty sure this topic has been covered a million and a half times, but I just felt like doing it again:
What connections do you have to famous people?

*My aunt went to school with Lonnie Anderson

*When my dad was a kid, he lived down the street from the bass player of Lynyrd Skynrd.  The band was actually named after a teacher at the school they went to.

*My boyfriend's uncle is Clarence Williams III. Well, I myself am not really familiar with any of his movies, but apparently he was in "Half Baked" and "The Mod Squad."

My uncle knew Burt Mustin who was an old character actor who played the really old guy (Gus the Fireman) on Leave it to Beaver.  He played in hundreds of roles in the 50's and 60's.  http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0615993/

My cousin was a teacher and Arnold Palmer was one of her students.

My Dad use to do business with John Hess, brother of war criminal Rudolf Hess.

My grandfather lent a dress shirt to Charles Schwab when he went to interview for a job with Carnegie Steel.  Schwab later became an exec at Carnegie Steel and then later founded Bethlehem Steel. (Grandpa continued to mine coal).

Clarence is da man.  He played the role of "Linc" in The Mod Squad and he was one cool cat, I tell you.  They had this ad they ran for the show and he had this line where he said:  "You can call me LINNNNNNNCOLN ! !".  Awesome.   8)

He also played the role of Prince's suicidal father in the movie Purple Rain.

If you are not familiar with his stuff, you GOTTA get some DVD's.  This guy is the real deal.  ;D

-My grandfather was in the Army with Elvis Presley. He said he was a great guy who would give his army pay to anyone who needed it.

-When my grandmother was a little girl, her family was quite poor and her father was dead. One day, my grandmother, her sister, and my great-grandmother were walking down a road in Oklahoma. A guy in a car picked them up. In the backseat were guns of every sort. The guy took them to the next town, got them a place to stay, some groceries, and gave them some money. You may know him as "P
retty Boy" Floyd.

-Don't know if you would consider this one, but some of Ritchie Valens' family still lives around these parts. My dad used to talk to his brother, Bob, all the time.

-Family friend of ours used to work for Clint Eastwood.

Lets see I kinda have a few.

My dads half-brother is Bobby Ross the football couch at Army and former couch of the Detroit Lions and San Diego Chargers.

I am related to Jane Seymour the third wife of King Henry VIII, she was his favorite wife and is buried next to her today.  So I am related to royality, kinda cool.

My dad knew Jackie Gleason.  He worked for him on his talk show.  One day Gleason invited my dad to his house.  Gleason had a pool table in his basement (as I am sure you could have guessed) and my dad started playing and my dad is not very good.  Gleason watched him for a while and finally stepped in and my dad said that Gleason ran the table on the first try.

My dad's family was and still is good friends with the Rooney family.  Art Rooney was the former owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers and his son Dan Rooney is the current owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

My sister is friends with the lead singer of Poison Bret Michaels.

Boxer Evander Holyfield Lives about 10 minutes from me.

I have met several celebraties too like Mark Martin (twice), Dale Jarret, Michael Jorden (before he became pro), Gaylord Perry, Tiger Woods (will he was still an amature), Former President Jimmy Carter, and probably someone else I am missing.  Those are people I have actually talked with.

My aunt married into the Roundtree family back in '65...
So my uncle, James Roundtree is the cousin of this other Roundtree in the family.
Richard Roundtree, the actor. So I'm like the third(?) cousin (twice removed or something) or so of "Shaft"  ;D 8) .

Actually met him once when I was only 6 in NYC in '73 a few years after the movie was popular. I don't remember the meeting much except that he was a very imposing person.
Thats as close as I am to any part of "fame" or celebs.
