Subject: Celebs who are strangely attractive/unattractive

Have you ever thought a celebrity was hot and all your friends and/or everyone in the media thought they were ugly? Or the other way round- have you ever thought that someone who everyone thinks is attractive is hideously ugly?
I was just wondering this because I get that all the time! In the first case, I must be one of about three or four people in the entire world who thinks that Kris Marshall (Nick on My Family) is hot. (Yes, that's a good measure of how incredibly "sad" I am, according to the little blondes I know.)
And also, am I the only person in the world who thinks that George Clooney is a hideous old man? And that Brad Pitt looks vaguely deformed in some strange way...? Whenever I've said this before, I've had a phalanx of teenage girls squeal things at me about me being "abnormal" and "wrong" and even "stupid", "blind" or "retarded"!
I also think Jordan and Jodie Marsh look like men in drag. And of course, whenever I say that, I get a phalanx of teenage boys squealing the above adjectives at me.
Does anyone else get this?

I could never understand why guys would go gaga for Vanna White. For one thing, I think she has goofy looking eyes. I'm not saying she is ugly, I just don't understand why everyone when wild over her. I think she is very plain looking.

I always thought Laura Dern was cute in an ugly sort of way. She looks too much like her mother Diane Ladd. But it is better than looking like her dad, Bruce Dern.

In "Sex in the City" (or in real life, like at awards shows) she dresses all slutty, but really does not have all that much to show off.

Superficially speaking -
Some Hollywood critics say Liv Tyler, daughter of Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, has a strange kind of beauty. I agree in that there's something about her face that is vaguely weird. Whatever it is, it's subtle and hard to describe. I can't call her beautiful. Well with those photo filters they used in LOTR she is. ;D

Shannon Doherty. Nothing good looking there. She has Mr. Ed teeth and Her eyes are out of alignment. One eye up - one eye down. The fact that she has a bad attitude doesn't help either.

I don't find Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise or George Clooney the least bit attractive, I never really have.
I also don't think Gwyneth Paltrow is all that great either, she's kind of pale and plain looking IMHO.

I've never been one who went nuts over an actor, so let's talk musicians. :)
The first person that comes to mind as being strangely unattractive would be Perry Farrell from Jane's Addiction. ICK!
As much as I love him, and his group Radiohead, Thom Yorke would fall somewhere in the middle. He's not the greatest looking guy on the planet, but there's still something about him I find intriguing.
I think you can guess who I find strangely attractive. ;D

Renee COULD look pretty good, but she seems to go out of her way to look goofy.
She's always sucking in her cheeks, and squinting her eyes. And her face is usually slimy.

I don't think Jennifer Aniston's all that. Something's up with her lower face. She smiles like someone wacked her on her mouth with a flat board.
Meg Ryan was cute when she was younger. Then she had several facial plastic surgeries that left her looking like The Joker from Batman, especially when she smiles.
Sarah Jessica Parker has always been ugly, IMO. Yet, some people find her pretty and even beautiful, perish the thought. :P
Brad Pitt's another one who always looks like he's got Skoal (chewing tobacco) in his lower lip. He's overrated, along with Tom Cruise and George (pointy chin) Clooney.

Ok, I'm just about to let you all know just how geeky I am. Please don't laugh too hard.
Way back in 1986, I fell in love with the Monkees. Micky Dolenz was my favorite. I thought he was gorgeous when he was younger. To see him today is a different story. All my friends and just about everyone I know loves Davy. I never thought he was that cute. My husband teases me about thinking Micky was cute. He says that Micky looks like his face has been smashed in.
I also think, please don't laugh harder, that Clay Aiken is nice looking. What can I say, I've got a thing for the geeks.
I never understood all the hype over Nicholas Cage. Sure, he had a pretty good body in Con Air, but his face just ruins it. If you could cut his head off and give him a different face, he'd be a lot better.
Brad Pitt is one that I like/don't like. He is the only celeb I've seen that can look so hot one minute and so skanky the next.ÂÂ

--Jennifer Aniston is hot, although if you gave her the wrong hair-do she would look NASTY.
--Sarah Jessica Parker falls into the category of "trying too hard". If she just went natural and did not do all the hair colors and slutty clothes, she would look fairly good. Needs an eyelid job though. When she looks over her shoulder, her eyelids droop and it looks like she's stoned or something.
--Meg's biggest problem is her personality. There's nothing like being a b*tch to make someone look terrible. And yes, whatever plastic surgery she had done was a botched job. Kind of like Joan Rivers' bad face lift.
--Brad Pitt needs to shave. The "stubble look" went out when Crocket and Tubbs went off the air.

I've always had a thing for Dennis Miller and people seem to think that's rather strange.  :o
On the other hand, I've never understood what the big thing was about Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise or Ben Affleck. And Ashton Kutcher...I don't get that either. Personally, I think Demi's taste has gone a bit downhill. (Bruce Willis is another that I find strangely attractive)
As for females, I think Julia Roberts is VERY overrated.

I saw a film starring her last night and sometimes she looks incredibly beautiful in an exotic sort of way but in other scenes I'd look at her and think hmmmmm....what a strange combination of bug eyes, weird mouth and very thin arms and legs.
As always I qualify this sort of discussion by wondering how Angelina might rate my own physical appearance....

Angelina looks VERY weird in a bikini, that's why you RARELY see her without either baggy pants, or holsters, etc on her hips.
Can't quite describe her hips other than very odd looking. I've seen a couple of promo photos that were heavily airbrushed to try and correct the contours.

I must agree with Julia Roberts, Ben Affleck & Matt Damon being highly overrated. I find them all unattractive and there's no "strangely" about it. Lara Flynn Boyle & Calista Flockhart are simply *Yuck* :P Two walking skeletons, toothpicks, tree limbs. Wafer thin is not a good way to be.
Angelina Jolie I'd rate strangely attractive because she can look beautiful in the right camera shots and scenes of some movies, even if her lips are just a tad too big for her face. I'd also add Nicole Kidman. She looks so beautiful sometimes. I do think she looks better with a little more weight on her and her natural hair color. She's been looking too thin as of late and the blond hair she's sported makes her look even paler, if that's possible. I never thought Arnold Schwarzenegger fell into the "good-looking guy" category, but he has aged extremely well and I hear more and more women finding him more attractive now in his older age. I agree he's a good candidate for the strangely attractive category. Hugh Jackman gets my vote as well.

I have always found Jeff Goldblum attractive.
As for unattractive...the Olsen twins. I don't understand all they hype...they look like monkeys.

Steve Guttenburg is quite attractive, also. Have you seen the movie "Don't Tell Her It's Me"? I think it is called Boyfriend School now. Steve plays a man who just beat cancer and he meets Jami Gertz. He falls in love but she doesn't (he is still bald and puffy). His sister (Shelly Long), who is a romance novelist, turns him into one of the heroes to see if she will fall for him then. Great movie.

Some Hollywood critics say Liv Tyler, daughter of Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, has a strange kind of beauty. I agree in that there's something about her face that is vaguely weird. Whatever it is, it's subtle and hard to describe. I can't call her beautiful. Well with those photo filters they used in LOTR she is. ;D

I think it's because she's way too thin. She didn't look too bad when Friends first went on the air. It's the same with Courteney Cox...way too thin. You can see their bones sticking out.
