Subject: MTV 100 Greatest Music Videos Ever Made

Written By: woops on 05/06/04 at 2:08 am

Here's a list from MTV of the 100 greatest videos from the 1980's & 1990's.  :) From 1999.

What's your opinion? Good or bad?
And write some videos you think should've made the list.

Why does 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' always appear in the top 5 of great music video lists?  That video was just awful

I taped this very countdown back in late 1999 when it first aired on MTV. I liked alot of 'em, but some I didn't.

To be honest, at the time, I'd not watched MTV or music videos in a few years, so some were new to me. Of course, all the 80's ones I like though. ;)

When was it that MTV started playing virtually nothing but reality shows?

^ Well, technically if you count Real World, 1995 or so. But as for when it was totally saturated - probably 2001/02. Kinda like regular TV too, LOL!

When they do play music videos, besides in the morning, is on that show TRL where they edit it for time and you miss nearly a quarter of the video.  They just talk too much when they should be playing videos!

I've never had the pleasure of watching MTV ever, and from the sounds of things, I'm glad.  lol  It really sounds like a sucky channel  :(
