Most British sitcoms, including Fawlty Towers, like 'Allo 'Allo and Dad's Army etc.

Ohhh... Seeing Tom & Jerry there reminds me of how much it would upset me when I was little. I was always a cat-person, you see. And I thought: "Here's this poor, old, skinny, grey cat who's treated horribly by his owner and is kicked out of the house and denied his food more often than not. All he wants to do is to satisfy his hunger and his natural predatory instincts by eating a mouse. But then the poor chap has his face bashed in with irons and has all kinds of horrendous things done to him, and HE gets the blame for it all when his violent, abusive owner comes home. And then the bloody dog comes and joins in!"
Every episode I watched, I never stopped hoping that Tom would catch Jerry and rip his head off and repay him for all the awful things he made him endure over the years. Until I was so depressed watching it, I realized that he would never catch him.
And now there's Tom & Jerry Kids- the poor cat's had to go through all this right from when he was a cute little furry kitten! *cries loudly* I LOVE YOU, TOM! *cries even more loudly* YOU'LL GET THAT MOUSE SOME DAY! *blows nose noisily and descends into even more crying*

The same goes for Sylvester and Tweety. That canary was so annoying and Sylvester was so fantastically cool. AND Granny always hit him with her umbrella. It's basically the same thing. *starts to cry again* I LOVE YOU, SYLVESTER! *wails*
