Subject: TV shows, Movies, etc. that should be out on DVD

Written By: woops on 05/20/04 at 2:33 am

Some tv shows I think should be out on DVD now:  8)

"Solid Gold" (in segments like "SNL" & "Ed Sullivan")
"Gidget"
"Parker Louis Can't Lose"
"Beavis & Butt-Head" (entire series with music video bits)
"Josie & The Pussycats"
"Rocko's Modern Life"
"Weird Science" (the tv series)

Movies:

"License To Drive" (Featuring Heather Graham)
"One Of The Boys" (A fun movie)

Miscellanious:

MTV specials, award shows, etc. Like VMA  performances from the 1980's
Funny Commercials from the '80's & '90's'
MTV/VH1 compilation CDs on DVD (music videos)
I've seen "MTV Party To Go" on DVD, so why not "Classic MTV: Class of 1983" or "VH1 The Bigs 80's" series.

Welcome Back Kotter--I've missed that show! It's almost like not seeing four of your very best real life friends for so many years  :-\\

CHiPs--Definitely.

There are two movie I can name off the top of my head:
The Naked Spur - A Jimmy Stewart/Anthony Mann (director) western.
The Friends of Eddie Coyle - Robert Mitchum plays a low-rent, low-key con in this one from the early '70s.

The Superfriends (‘70s cartoon version)
Dragnet (the 2nd series run from ‘67-‘70)
Rockford Files
Colombo
CHIP’s
Hawaii 5-0
Star Trek (yes, already available, but a release with more than just TWO episodes per one DVD is sorely needed!)
What’s Happening
Fat Albert & The Cosby Kids.

Movies:
Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry
Thunderbolt & Lightfoot
Any & all of Ed Wood’s & Russ Myer’s films…

I'm not sure if "Saved By The Bell" is out on DVD yet, but I think that would be nice. (Although I have taped the 'Malibu Sands' episodes from TBS when they aired earlier this year.) Same with "Full House", so I can watch whatever episode I want whenever I want, and not wait for ABC Family or Nick At Nite to air them (besides, I think both stations are currently showing eps from the 7th season). We do have a DVD player at home.

Dark Shadows (or any soap for that matter)

There were a few t.v. specials I would like to see that came out in the early days of television. The ones that I can think of off the top of my head were:

Julie and Carol at Carnagy Hall (Julie Andrews and Carol Burnett)
Cinderella (with Julie Andrews)
Table Settings (which was on HBO with Robert Kline and Stockard Channing-not the early days but I would still love to get it on DVD)

I know there is more but that is all I can think of right now.
