Lets say that you were making a remake of some of these movies (God Forbid ) now, we'll argue if its a piece of crap and if it shouldnt be remade later, but for right now, the question is, who, out of the current crop of stars and all, would you cast in the main roles of these movies?

Wrath of Khan - "The Rock" as Khan  8)

Citizen Kane - Fred Dalton Thompson as John Foster Kane  8)

The Godfather - Laura Linney  :-* as Kay Adams (Michael's wife)

Annie Hall - Michael Jackson in Woody's role (pedophile angle)   :D

The African Queen - Gwenyth Paltrow as the old lady, maybe Bruce Willis as the old guy ???

The Graduate - Angie Harmon as the girl.


But... I do not think that a Wrath of Khan remake could work.  Why?  because I think the major appeal of this movie was that almost all the actors were ORIGINAL ACTORS from the original TV-Show "Khan episode" upon which the movie played.  When the movie came out it had sort of a time-warp aura to it because of this.  So, I think a remake would not be nearly as appealing.  That said, "The Rock" would be my choice for Khan.


Also...Under no circumstances would I EVER cast Steve Martin or Adam Sandler in a serious or classic-remake film.  They never play the part and rather play "themselves' and trash scripts.  As evidenced in Martin's evisceration and desecration of the classic Cheaper by the Dozen title.

I think I would try to make stars of unknown actors . . .

There's a P.E. teacher at our school, who is bizarrely called Steve Martin. He criticizes the kids painfully and has the most horrible furry arms (seriously, no one knows if there's skin under it all) and I actually asked to be moved out of his class because he was so annoying.
