There was a woman who went to the college I did (a couple years after I graduated) with ALMOST the same name (her last name had an "s" on the end and my didn't). Everytime I went somewhere and they went to pull up my records, they pulled up hers. I did e-mail her one time and she said that the same thing happened to her. One time, my dad met a professor at the school and told him that his daughter went there. My dad told him my name and he said that he knew me. But, it was the wrong one. I was told that the professor went up to the woman and said that he met her dad-but it was MY dad that he met. Talk about confusing. But, I have since changed my name so hopefully, there will be no more confusion.  ;D

I did a Google search on my first and last name and found someone who works as an academic librarian in The London School of Economics.

The next one after all the references to that person was references to me here at Loughborough University!

I was also 2nd runner-up in a beauty pageant in 1990, apparently.

I have been contacted by an American guy who had the same name as my birth name, and he told me that he knew at least four other people with the same name and was in contact with them all. Why is anyone's guess. My name is so unusual that I thought I was the only one. Now I've changed it, I'm pretty sure that I am. :)

The Starr Foundation was established in 1955 by Cornelius Vander Starr, an insurance entrepreneur who founded the American International family of insurance and financial services companies, now known as American International Group, Inc. (NYSE:AIG). Mr. Starr, a pioneer of globalization, set up his first insurance venture in Shanghai in 1919. He died in 1968 at the age of 76, leaving his estate to the Foundation.

The Foundation currently has assets of approximately $3.5 billion, making it one of the largest private foundations in the United States. It makes grants in a number of areas, including education, medicine and healthcare, human needs, public policy, culture and the environment.

For a second there,I thought Our family had a foundation but this is also a coincidence.
If he was my father,I would've been rich by now and had been living in an estate with my Mother.

Dr. Todd Starr, DC, ACRB2, RTP

Dr. Todd Starr had an early start in healthcare.  While his friends and siblings wanted to be policemen and firemen, he always wanted to tend to their wounds.  His mother, a nurse, encouraged this behaviour, by supplying him with a stethoscope and otoscope and later commenting that he had a doctor’s illegible handwriting.  His first badge earned in Cubs was for first aid and he read his mother’s nursing texts cover to cover at a very young age.

Throughout public and high school he participated in several sports, including basketball, volleyball, baseball, karate and running.  He had not forgotten his goal of becoming a doctor when he met a chiropractor at age seventeen.  This would prove to be an important event, as this gentleman became a mentor and role model, encouraging him to consider chiropractic as a profession.

While attending University of Western Ontario to obtain his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences, he was constantly questioned by his peers as to why he wanted to pursue chiropractic over medicine.  As alternative medicine was at the cusp of becoming mainstream, and health and wellness were becoming very hot topics, the timing just seemed right.

While attending Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Dr. Starr worked for five years at the Sleep Disorders Clinics at St. Michael’s and Toronto Western Hospital under world-renowned sleep specialists.  He learned a great deal there from true experts and being exposed to many interesting cases. As a result, he developed valuable skills in patient care and management.

Upon graduation, Dr. Starr began his career as clinical director of a large, multi-disciplinary rehabilitation centre, treating mainly car accident and work injury patients.  While this was a great deal of responsibility for a new graduate, dealing with complex cases and severe injuries was a welcome learning experience.

In 2000, he made the switch to a more wellness-based occupation and began a sports medicine clinic in a large health club.  This provided him with the opportunity to treat people who were truly interested in their health and wellness, as well as several high-level athletes in track and field, bodybuilding and fitness competitions.  This very dynamic group of patients constantly challenged him to be at the top of his game, earning a rehabilitation specialist designation and attending many conferences on sports injuries.

In January 2003, Dr. Starr joined Dr. Philip McAllister at Back to Basics.  They had become friends while completing their rehabilitation specialist designations, and a chance meeting a year later convinced them both that they should combine their considerable talent and experience to create a centre of excellence in health care for Guelph and the surrounding community.

In June of 2003, Dr. Starr followed Dr. McAllister’s lead and earned his Registered Trigenics Practitioner designation.  The results Dr. McAllister was getting with this new technique were astounding, and it fit well with the practices Dr. Starr was already utilizing.

As Dr. Starr becomes more involved in the Guelph community, he is very impressed by the friendliness with which he has been welcomed, and the many cultural and athletic opportunities available in the area.  He is now an avid Ultimate Frisbee player, thoroughly enjoying the camaraderie and ‘spirit of the game’.  He was a member of the medical team for the 2003 Canadian Midget Girls Fastball Championships.

Dr. Starr gives frequent presentations on injury prevention and the benefits of cross-training to runners of all levels and large groups of personal trainers.  He has spoken to engineers at Ontario Power Generation on ergonomics and low back pain, staff at the Grace Nursing Home on the use of orthotics and preventing common injuries, and at the YMCA on sleep hygiene and stress management.

Dr. Starr’s philosophy towards health care could be summed up in one word, prevention.  It is far easier to prevent an injury, heart disease, or an accident, than it is to treat its aftermath.  Often, seeking help at the first sign of a problem rather than waiting, can make the difference between a quick and full recovery versus an irreversible injury.

Even though My Brother had passed away 9 years ago,I thought this was another coincidence right here. ;D

play MacDuff in The Scottish Play
I am a health care worker
Have issued a prototype for robotic tracking
Am (or should that be, have) an offensive tackle
Run a smalltown theatre in the US
Ran up Mount Washington, taking 4 days, 6 hours and 25 minutes
Went to a Tennessee obesity clinic in 2002

That should be enough to juggle with for now!

One time when my family and I were at Disneyland, we ran into a boy who was wearing the exact same shirt and pants as me!! And his name was Jeff, just like mine!! :D See, we were browsing around in the clock shop, just looking to see what was there, and when it was time to go, I guess my mom said to the other boy (thinking it was me), "Hey, Jeff, time to go.." and the other boy was confused. "Wait a minute, you're not my Jeff!" Then she turned around and looked at me...and we were all amazed (for lack of a better word). So my mom took a picture of the two of us, standing side by side.

I swear, he had on the very same shirt and shorts that I had on, and we found out that his name was also Jeff, and he was about my age. What are the odds of that?! Talk about coincidences! :D ;D By the way, I was 10 at the time.

This one isn't name-related, but it has to be the biggest coincidence ever:

Mater and I went to see "Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure" a month or two ago (if you haven't seen it, you really must; it's HILARIOUS and he's really good).
When we came back, we decided to find some Googlewhacks of our own (a Googlewhack is where you type in two real, random words into Google with no punctuation and if it comes up with just one entry then that website is a Googlewhack and you must tell the webmaster so).
After finding a few, a week later we searched for POLTROON CAPERCAILLIES, and sure enough, it was a Googlewhack!
We went to the website to look for an e-mail addy for the webmaster, and we told him that he was a Googlewhack and gave him the words we searched for.
He was very nice and sent us a reply, unlike most of the Googlewhacks we found:

"Egad! You're right! I am also Coelacanth Sharpener from Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure."

And he was! One week after going to see the stage show version of the Googlewhack Adventure, we met Coelacanth Sharpener, when (a) he might not have been another Googlewhack, (b) he was just one of the three billion sites on Google and (c) we were searching for completely random words. Bizarre, eh?

One time I called a friend of mine. Someone else answered the phone and I asked for my friend. A few minutes later she came on. After saying hello, she asked me who I was. I told her and she said that it didn't sound like me. I said that it didn't sound like her either. Come to find out, I actually had the wrong number. I had a friend by her name and she had a friend by my name. What are the odds. We both kind of laughed about it and said good-bye. Then I did call my friend.  ;D

Way-back-when, I worked in a plant that had 9000 people working there.

Anyway, there was some guy who looked almost EXACTLY like me, and people absolutely hated him because he was a snitch and got people in trouble.

One day I was walking to an area of the plant to work on a job, and some big shot came up to me and started reaming me out.  I stood there blank-faced, and then he stopped.  Then he said "Hey, you aren't him!  You're that other guy, his double that people have been talking about!"  He then went on and apologized profusely.  Then he said "LyricBoy, you better grow a moustache or something before somebody kicks your butt !

So I grew the moustache.  25 years later, I still have it!

I knew there was a coincidences thread here somewhere.  Just no idea it was so old.  :o

Anyways, on Saturday morning I picked up a book to read.  I opened it totally at random and started to read.  The guy in the book goes out for a meal and part way through the evening he sees a flash of lightning and hears a rumble of thunder, then it starts to throw it down with rain.  Just as I read this bit there was a flash of lightning and a rumble of thunder.  Spooky!

P.S. If you don't choke up at the ending .... you AIN'T human ....  :\'(

For the record, I spent a bit of time looking for Howard Starr info on the net ... but was defeated in uncovering anything further than you already know.  Maybe he took an early exit from this planet ?

I can think of a few coincidences that happened within a few months of each other.

On a Tuesday last November, I was learning about camera techniques in my animation class at uni (that's right, I started uni since I last visited this board) and on my way home a song I liked played on my iPod. When I got home, a staff member I liked was down to take me to aqua aerobics.

In February this year, the same things happened all on a Tuesday.
