Subject: summer/beach/etc. music from any era or genre

Written By: neminem on 08/11/04 at 12:12 am

This is probably my first post outside the 2 parody forums, where I'm somewhat of a regular. I figured this would be a perfect place to ask for recommendations:

I've been put in charge of doing a slide show for my little sister's Junior Guards program. It's a day camp outside at the beach all summer, where they basically train to be lifeguards. The pictures are all taken care of, but I also need audio, and none of the areas of music I know a lot about would particularly fit what I'm looking for. That being well-known songs, preferably from a wide range of eras and genres, that have to do with the general theme of kids having fun during the summer, at the beach, in the sun, etc. And I already have the requisite Beach Boys track, so don't bother with that ;-).

Apparently, also songs about friendship, trust, that sort of thing. Broadway, oldies, punk, hip hop, anything is fine. The more ideas, the better. Thanks in advance!
