Was it because of a fight, or because I turned it into a game of "Stump The Censor?" (I still think that's a great idea for a game. ;D)If that's the case then I apologize for getting your thread deleted.

Apricot, it's great to see the thread reopen again. General threads like yours are excellent. :)

Wow.let me tell you, last night at The Starry Night Cafe for the Valentine dinner and dance was a good night to overstep my boundaries.  ;D In the beginning,I was just a little bit disappointed cause of the same old music and the people but as soon the night continued,I just had a blast. It was great.I think I got way oversexed but hey it's Valentine's Day,romance is in the air,it's supposed to be that way.good things happened last night.I gave her my presents,I got her to sit on my lap, kissed the nape of her neck while blowing on her hair at the same time cause her Estee Lauder perfume got me so high, tickled her to death cause Robin knows she's ticklish and she told me so,got to lay my head on her legs while she was sitting down & danced with her.plus,to end it all,I asked if we could have a kiss good night and that is what we did.the first french kiss wasn't really that great cause she inhaled my mouth and almost bit my lip so we did it again(2nd time) and it was a romantic kiss I'll never forget. :) But now,I consider her my girlfiend but Robin on the other hand wants to be special friends for now and she told me that I should still look for a job until we can further this relationship.I don't know.Is it girlfriend OR special friends? I'm not sure.I'm confused. :-\\ the romance is there(that's for sure) but I still don't know about anything else. :-\\ What does she want from me? a good paying job, money, security? It's hard to understand her. :(

i think she wants you to be financially stable. if a woman wants that don't worry. she wants to spend the rest of her life with you and she wants that security knowing you can support the both of you.

Glad to see you back. Now if I could get rid of this ear infection that I have everything should be fine. I had to present a project in school today. I hate doing that. I think this one went pretty bad.

I had told Robin several times.I don't have a job,I'm living off SSI(government checks),I volunteer 2 days a week so basically,I'm getting some money but just not enough to live off of.She's telling me that she wants to make MORE money, eventually to stop living with her parents and to be financially secure. She also had mentioned to me that she's afraid of going to a group home but she has nothing to fear. She has a decent part time paying job,her parents help her with the money situation,& she might be going back to college soon so I don't see anything wrong here.I guess both of us are worried for our future.I'm worried for her that she might not get what she wants and she's worried for me that I might not achieve my goal of a part time job so we got something on our hands here.My first relationship in 8 years and now this is not what I'm looking forward to hearing. :( ::)

Oh yeah. The best way to help is to post frequently. Don't spam post, that's not what I want. Post about how your day was, what has happened to you, how you're feeling. Just use the board, and use it often. We might be able to revive it to it's old glory.

See,what I want is a girlfriend someone who I can spend my life and grow old with but maybe not marriage that's not one of my important priorities right now it's getting a decent part time/full time paying job, making good money & trying to get my life back together.I kinda feel we're both worried about each other. She's still worried about me not getting a part-time paying job and my government checks(SSI) and volunteering + I'm worried about her from what she had mentioned that she doesn't want to live in a group home & live like an old and decrepit lady but she's going back to college, she has a decent job,has her family to help her with her finances so what is she complaining about? I think Robin has some expectations(security, money and a good future) but she can't worry about me right now,I got my whole life ahead of me so let ME worry about me for the moment. It's only going to bother her to death.I hope this is not what I have to look forward to in the near future. :(

I know. I wasn't playing "Beat the Censor", I was getting something off my chest.
I got really mad today after I realized that what may possibly be my last contact with Laura was stopped by my mother before a minute. Couldn't even tell her I loved her. I hope we get to talk again. I got even angrier when I realized I'd lost a quarter of my posts, and that it was gonna take a lot of work to get em back. So I took it out on everyone and everything possible. This is how I was before I got sent to the psychiatrists. I gotta calm down before I hurt myself.

No homework is supposed to be a helping tool not a way to lower your grade. If you don't get the right answers at home it is ok because you come in the next day and ask for help on the ones you missed.

Well here in England homework is just an extension of the class.
If you get the wrong answers then you are marked down. The idea is you learn it all in class and then use that knowledge independantly.

Call it a compromise, Howard. Even though you may not see it, she has something to work on as well (her weight). If you can both try to improve yourself for each other, at least it won't be quite as one-sided as just you getting nagged at to get a job. There is motivation on both sides of the relationship then. :)

Yeah jaytee Thanks. :) I'm just way oversexed that I just can't help myself of what comes out of my mouth. :( I'll try to keep the dirty stuff for another time.

I feel sad. A friend's husband had cancer last year and had been given the all clear. They've just been told he has lung cancer, bone cancer and various others. He'll be lucky if he sees Easter :\'(
I'm so sorry to hear that.  I know it'll be hard for you to not show your sadness, but your friend needs you to be strong for her right now.  Give her your shoulder to cry on, offer her your hand when she's down and doesn't have the strength to get up and just listen to her.  After she leaves, then you can be sad.

I have no answer to that question! I honestly don't think there is one. The best I've come up with is just because it can, just because it's a part of life, just because there is no rhyme or reason, just because there is no real justice. I would make myself crazy trying to contemplate on that question for very long, so I choose to put the "why" aside and just concentrate on trying to offer help and support where I am able.

The trouble with dirty talk, Howard, especially when you have just started out, is that it is implying to your girlfriend that you just want to ravage her body. I know this is what you want to do but to openly say this may not have the effect you want.
Jaytee said it best (being a woman who knows what a woman wants ;)). Give the girl some light compliments. Don't go crazy or do this wierd stuff about saying 'your eyes twinkle like sparkling stars in the night sky' because it all sounds a bit phoney. Just say occassionally, and in various ways, that she looks beautiful. All this must be said in utter confidence, murmuring these words are not going to have an effect.
Hope this helps - though admittedly, you are not asking the right man, Howard. The first thing I said to my girlfriend (and she's only 4'11) is 'are you wearing any shoes?' ;D

Howard here are some suggestions we can probably all profit from!
Cherie Byrd, a psychotherapist who teaches kissing, thinks Americans should use their lips to speak to their sweethearts:
Slowing way down is really helpful, getting really focused, really feeling into your own heart," she said.
Step two: Make eye contact and deliver a message  perhaps of love or tenderness.
"Whatever that message is, it needs to be carried into the quality of the kiss," she said.
Step three: Forget multitasking; pay attention.
"Focusing is essential and it means all of you, right down to the curling of your toes needs to be engaged in this," she said.
Step four: The smooch :-*. And with this gift, it's definitely the thought that counts.

Jaytee, I'm so sorry to hear this. I know how devastating cancer can be as my mom is battling it. I will keep you and the family in my thoughts {{{HUGS}}}
My oldest is still running a fever from the strep & now has diarrhea from the medication. Looks like I'll be calling the doctor again today :(
Thanks crazymom. I think the worst thing is that my friend's husband Neil looks well. It's hard to believe he will deteriorate that quickly (maybe the Doctor has got in wrong). Cancer is a horrible disease which claimed my sister. I hope your mum is winning the battle.
Hope your oldest is feeling better soon. Don't you just hate it when the medication just adds to the misery. My eldest always gets thrush when they give her antibiotics :P

Well, I can't blame her for "encouraging" you to get a paying job, but to say that you are lazy is inappropriate. Like it or not, women by nature look for a husband who can "provide" for a family, so her desire to see you get a paying job is understandable.
That said, it is YOUR life and you have to do things at a pace that is right for YOU.
:)

I agree with LyricBoy. Howard, she just wants what everyone wants......the American Dream. You know.......house in suburbia, white picket fence, 2 cars, dog named Spot, 2.5 kids. If she's not able to attain that for herself alone, and you're not able to attain that for yourself alone, then the idea is for you both to pool your resources and attain it together. She just wants to be sure that you can keep up with your end of that bargain.

there’s something else...
the afterworld
a world of never ending happiness
u can always see the sun
day or night
so when u call up that shrink in Beverly Hills
u know the one, dr. everything’ll be all right
instead of asking him how much of your time is left
ask him how much of your mind baby
Cause in this life things much harder
than in the afterworld
in this life you’re on your own
and if de-elevator tries 2 bring

punch a higher floor
if u don’t like
the world you’re living in
take a look around
AT LEAST U GOT FRIENDS!

A friend and I were discussing this subject philosophically about a year or two ago and came to the conclusion that there is no such thing as a selfless deed - even if the motivation is merely to make you feel better. You feel good from doing it and therefore this is your selfish motivation for doing it. Everybody has motives for doing everything. We should just consider our actions and not the thoughts that go behind them all the time.

TELL ME ABOUT IT!! It had been in my head since Monday when a co-worker was whistling it!! But don't you worry, the "Go Crazy" song you gave me somehow got mutated into "Purple Rain"....that is until I came back on this thread. Now it's just:
(snap) King of the Road :D

Trailers for sale or rent
Rooms to let...fifty cents.
No phone, no pool, no pets
I ain't got no cigarettes
Ah, but..two hours of pushin' broom
Buys an eight by twelve four-bit room
I'm a man of means by no means
King of the road.
Third boxcar, midnight train
Destination...Bangor, Maine.
Old worn out clothes and shoes,
I don't pay no union dues,
I smoke old stogies I have found
Short, but not too big around
I'm a man of means by no means
King of the road.
I know every engineer on every train
All of their children, and all of their names
And every handout in every town
And every lock that ain't locked
When no one's around.
I sing,Trailers for sale or rent
Rooms to let, fifty cents
No phone, no pool, no pets
I ain't got no cigarettes
Ah, but, two hours of pushin' broom
Buys an eight by twelve four-bit room
I'm a man of means by no means
King of the road.
sorry guys had to do it.

Really? How was it? I don't listen to music because it's "tre cool", I listen because I like it. Just so you don't think I'm one of "those" people.

I believe you..
They were good.. but... to be honest, nothing amazing live.
It was a few bands performing, but they were good.

Yeah, I didn't think they'd be too good live.

I can't believe how good I slept or how long. I woke up at noon today. You don't realize how tired school makes you until you don't have to get up and sleep for hours.
