I prefer my nails a medium length (but they have to be very short when I'm throwing pots). :)

Long. I have been very lucky with my nails. On my wedding day, someone asked me if my nails were "French sculpured". I said they were real. They get long, they break. They get long, they break. It is a never ending cycle. but if one does break, I know it will grow again fairly quickly. But I do hate it when they break at or below the quick-OUCH!
(And of course, a cat must have her claws. ;))

Yep, I feel your pain. I keep mine medium. I know it's time to cut them when I can't get my contacts out as easily.

Mine are trimmed short.
I DO NOT like the bit-down, bleedy looking nails associated with nail biters.
As for my opinion on ladies nails. . .
I like them medium.

I'm lucky in that my nails have always been very strong, and they don't break easily. I can grow them long if I want to...they just tend to get in my way. :D

my hair used to be like that, when i was 14 i had hair down to my past my butt, got it cut to shoulder length and 4 or 5 months later it was the same length again. I wish it was still like that.

Medium, again with the contact thing. When it too hard to get my lenses out I know it's time to cut them. Also I do quite a bit of typing at work and it's too hard to do with long nails. Besides, I'm not real good about upkeep on them and they just look nasty if they get long and aren't manicured.
Hubby keeps his short. He hates when they are long enough that dirt can get under them. I feel this is totally unfair because I always scratch his back for him and he can't reciprocate. :(

Actually I think nails are protein, like hair. Could be wrong thou, it's happened once before. ;D
