Can anyone help me burn a copy of an ecrypted DVD?  I've managed to burn it onto the hard drive (using DVDDecrypter) & have the IFO, VOB & BUP files, but cannot manage to convert them into movie files to burn them???

Okay, Crazymom. You need DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc.

Here's TMPGEnc . . .

Go to where it says 'Download' on each website. Let me know once you have downloaded them and I will let you know the next steps . . .

Okay. Read the DVD2AVI tutorial. Let me know how you get on with it. :)

Very good.  :)

Now read this. This is for tmpgenc which will encode your project into an Mpeg file. The more you fiddle with this, the longer it takes (depending on your file it will take you quite a few hours - you can still use the net while it is encoding but don't do much else with the computer).

The longer it takes, the better (hopefully) your mpeg will look on the television.

1 d2v file is good, I don't know what the 3 audio files are. Is one a WAV file (you can see which one is)? Use that one.

Does it say why you can't get it into it? If it says something about a DLL, look onto the list of files where you got the tmpgenc file from and you will see 3 files that are DLL files (light blue icons with a green and orange splodge in them). Open them up (they show some rubbish in them) and shut them again. Repeat the process.

Okay. Go back and do your DVD2AVI work but this time where it says 'audio' up the top, pick output method and choose 'Decode to WAV'. Where it says Dolby Digital Decode, don't tick anything but follow the 'Dynamic Range Control' along and then choose 'Normal'.

Do this bit again and then let's see what happens when you put it through Tmpgenc. It appears as if you have chosen a surround sound option when you shouldn't have.

That's okay, it doesn't take long to do.  :)

this will make the files for you, and then you burn the disc in Nero

No worries.  :)

Check the quality of the DVD in your DVD player. If it's alright for you - cool.
