Subject: Anyone faking their identity?

Written By: DevoRule on 04/24/05 at 7:35 pm

I'm not, this is pretty much the real me.  I'm not quite as nice in real life, but it's me.  Anyone faking major things such as age, sex, etc?

Subject: Re: Anyone faking their identity?

I used to but I'm keepin' it real these days. Yep  :)

Subject: Re: Anyone faking their identity?

I'm probably a little more "expressive"/comfortable seeming here than in real life.

Well, of course I am, but unlike there, I've got all the time in the world to "describe" something about pop culture without worrying about being cut off because someone grows disinterested. ;D

Other than that, if anyone met me in real life, my personality ain't too much different.

Only the name I use here.  ::)

I talk alot more on here than I do in real life. But thats probably because it's easier when you aren't face-to-face with someone to talk to them. Thats pretty much it though. My ideas/thoughts expressed on here are actually my ideas/thoughts etc.

i'm actually quite nicer and easy going in RL, i crack jokes all the time and do my best to make people feel comfortable. here, on these boards, i can't relax. i'm really out of my element here.

Nope.  I am who I appear to be, a boring adult...and I like it that way.

Hey, anyone who was an editor of a site as cool as this could hardly be boring. :)

Like I said though, with the passing of time, the words "boring" and "adult" are becoming less synonymous with each other, imo.

Well, I'm a bit different, I'd say. I keep it fairly real, but I guess if anything, I hold a bit more back on here.

yeah, i'm really foul mouthed and i like to talk about sex, especially kinky stuff. can't do that here...anyway, i found another pop culture board that lets you do just that.

Red Ant is my name here and on www.amiright.com . It is a nickname that I have used for nearly 15 years

I am more emotionally driven in real life. I tend to be rather detached on the board but that is because I can express myself far better in text than in words.  :)

I tend to be better with talking then writing, but other than that I would say I am pretty much the same here
and in the unreal world.  ;)

What an interesting philosophical and existential question this turns out to be for me....

Hmmm.....

Yes AND no  ;D  More NO than yes - read on !

I AM what you see me to be (those of you that know me, or have been here long enough to know me, that is...)

Yet, in a way that I am not going to share here (sorry) it has allowed me to be MORE of what I always thought I could be...

I am not faking anything to achieve that.  I am simply being me.

That has, however, to an extent cemented something of a theory that I always suspected to be the case...

And I am still undecided as to whether that is a good thing or a bad thing  :o

Well, you've confused me already...yes, it doesn't take much to...!!

What you 'see' is basically what you get with me - but I'm much more of a cold fish in real-life...

Well, let's just say that I find it easier to be (parts of) the real me here than I do in real life

Parts that are important...

I'm more outspoken here than in real life, but other than that, I'm pretty much a "what you see read is what you get".  I have faked my identity on other things, though, like Yahoo when I'm trying to play a game with someone and someone else butts in "ASL" & "wanna cyberx?" (then I tell them I'm a 27 y.o. MALE from Berkeley ;D)

;D

You mean,you aren't  :o

Still better than telling me you are a 22 stone 44 yo truck driver from Wyoming  ;)

That's a really, really good way to put it. I'd never thought about it that way, but I guess I AM more like my actual self {well, parts of it} here then I am in real life.
