Picture this:
Imagine standing and looking at a standard swingset (the traditional kind, not those modern wooden jungle gym things with ladders and nets and trapezes that do everything but sing and dance). At one end is a small sliding board. In the middle are two basic swings. And at the far end is an apparatus which has two hard metal seats facing each other and a footrest and handholds and two people sit on it and swing back and forth...
What is that thing called?  ???

If memory serves, we used to know it as a 'push-pull', basically because of its way of momentum - one end would push forward whilst t'other would pull back...
But that was just me and my sisters - it may well vary everywhere...

It might be called a pendulum swing.

I believe they are actually called Gliders or Face-to-face Gliders.
Gliders - feet are underneath and you sit on a seat that looks like its from a bicycle
Face-to-face Gliders - the type I believe you are talking about!

OH...I used to LOVE those things! We had a swingset when we were younger...and it had one of those things on it....we called them gliders.

around here we always called them a see-saw

When I had one as a kid we called them Push Me Pull You's.

I know what you mean. We called them gliders too. When in doubt, thingamagig always works for me.

I've never seen one of those...
But do ya'll remember Pumper swings? A metal looking box one person sits in and pulls and pumps these metal handles to get going really fast.
