Well.....things are looking better concerning the whole "plumbing" episode. Chris' uncle worked all day yesterday with the help of Chris and his brother. They got the problem fixed, however, more has to be done (updating older pipes before we end up having the same sort of problem again)....so they are waiting until August to tear my entire laundry room apart :\'(.

Same situation here.. my dad can't stand to sit still until after 8 PM, and his idea of sleeping in is 7:30 AM, so he starts doing pointless work.. and my mom doesn't like to move at all, and can sleep the whole day.. so it doesn't mix well.

I invited Robin over my house again but this time when the parents aren't around.My Mother and Father are going to Las Vegas in August for a vacation and I would like her to come over my house now that she knows where I live.She probably wants to know what I want her to come over for.It's a special moment that I've been waiting for 30 years of my life to try to get rid of.I believe you all know what it is. ;)

Oh it's true it's true. 95% of future killers are in some way ridiculed by parents. Hadden Clarck was forced to wear girls clothes for a long time.

Like, how so? What sort of things am I explaining? Because I've tried to discuss things with them, and here's the dynamic of the conversation:
1. I try to calmly articulate what's on my mind.
2. My dad starts mocking me, and the situation, effectively attempting to ruin my calmness and desire to progress.
3. Any sign of frustration or anger on my part begins my dad on a tremendous rant about how he has the power, how disrespectful I am, etc.
4. Hour-Long Monologue. My few sentences allowed, interupted to be told how I'm wrong at the end of almost every thought I manage to finish.
5. By then, it's either late, we get an important call, etc. Either way, It's been well over an hour, the original point was totally lost, I'm angry/upset, my dad's FURIOUS, my mom will just back him unless he actually hit me or went too far {which isn't much... there's only one or two things that make my mom think he's gone too far}.
^And that started as a civil, mature conversation, an attempt on my part to have a progressive conversation.

I had a friend and when he was a kid he would imitate his mothers actions, he saw her preparing fish for dinner and decided to try to scale the family gold fish, he removed a few scales but they caught him in time and put the fish back in the bowl and it lived... another time he saw his mom ironing the dress shirts, so when she turned her back he grabbed the can of spray starch and sprayed the family bird... one way to keep a bird quiet I guess  :D

What I meant was that this moment is between her and I only.I will tell her not to go blab it to her parents and I will do the same.But if we both slip,then both of us will get into trouble by both of our parents.I kind of feel that living with my parents I rarely get enough freedom in my life and that I can't have women over the house unless they go out for the night or go on vacation.That's when I get my freedom.I sometimes think about wanting my own apartment but I doubt if that'll ever happen. :(

The band my daughter is in has a show next saturday night, but her bass is screwing up on her and she doesn't know if it will be working well enough to play. So now she's telling me about this "sweet" bass she saw and I just can't afford it right now. We have my other daughters graduation party next sunday, and I've been saving money for that. So, now she may not be able to do the show, which will pretty much screw it up for the rest of the band. Soooooo, now what? She may be able to get it fixed pretty cheap at the music store she works at, that's if it's fixable. I feel bad because it's their first show. So, I'm stewing over this, and it's making me crazy. :o :(

Yep, check at the music store and see if it's fixable before you commit to any other decision. If worst comes to the worst, you simply can't afford it. As long as you have explained this to your daughter (which you said you have), you have no reason to feel bad. It's much better to go without a musical instrument (however difficult that may be) than to go without food and neccessities in a bid to pay for another.  ;)

True, very true.. she's great.. she's always very happy, and if she isn't, she's never been one to take it out on everyone, like some people in our family.

She's a bit of a strange one, however.. see, she has a lot of health problems.. she's had several VERY near-death experiences.. and she laughs about them.. she told us a story the other day about how she almost suffocated because her throat swelled shut on it's own.. she nearly DIED, and she's telling us this story in bouts of laughter. Maybe that's how she deals, I dunno.. Meh.

she does sound very quirky (and for that reason, she sounds very cool). Sometimes old people can get on my nerves, but for the most part, I really enjoy listening to all of their stories of when they were young...it fascinates me!

Bad night for sleep, but better then last. About 3 AM I fell asleep, and woke up at 11:30.. as a result, I missed going to breakfast and the movies. Oh well.

Oh no.. a "friend" is threatening to do something that could dramatically affect my life.. or, at the very least, put me in a LOT of trouble with my parents.. I didn't even do anything wrong.. I just tried to talk about my problems.. and this is what I get? Why?
