Subject: Sappiest Show Thread

What do you think is the sappiest show (not including children's shows)?

I have to say...

Definitely Full House.  Too much hugging.

Ooh, you're right, that is a cheesy show.  It's close, but I think Full House is sappier.  ;)

It's gotta be The Littlest Hobo.  A dog who wanders from town to town helps save people in distress, then once his work is done, he moves on to a new town.  It was a very cheesy and sappy show, but as a kid, I watched it all the time :)

Are you sure that isn't a children's show?  Remember that children's shows don't count, because chances are, a kid's show is going to be sappy.

If Stephanie had my parents, she would have had her ass thrown out of the house, but not before it was severely spanked.

Nah, it wasn't a kids show.  It was a Family Show.  Kids probably watched it, but it wasn't aimed towards kids

I liked the show when I was ten, but now it just makes me sick.  I want to beat the crap out of those touchy feely dads for hugging when the real solution would be mucho spanking (for the younger aged kids anyway) and other punishment.

London is an extremely intelligent, wandering German shepherd who walks into a different place in each episode of this long-running television series, and comes upon people down on their luck or in trouble. London always befriends and helps the struggling person or persons. Then, when his job is done at episode's end, London declines to be the pet of the people he has helped and departs to continue his cross-country drifting.

Ugh.

Well, I'd have to agree with everyone who said Full House---BUT---I've gotta (somewhat in shame!) admit I've always been a big fan of the show. Probably more now than when it was actually on the air - I tape the double episodes per day in syndication.

I think part of the appeal is it's unrealistic-ness. Especially the hugging whenever anyone leaves a room, and everything working out in a tightly constructed 22 minute episode.

The concensus seems to usually be that Michelle was the overspoiled and bratty one, but they probably all were at some point. I could never see Danny giving them a spanking though, LOL!

Then again, Back to the Future is unrealistic too, and there's no need to say what I think of that. ;)

Yes, so very...realistic.

It seems that shows get more cynical and less sappy as time progresses.  Step By Step was like the 90's version of Brady's Bunch.  It was cheesy by today's standards, but not nearly as much as Brady Bunch.

Hey, what about Leave It To Beaver?  Actuallly, that was more cheesy than sappy.  Beaver would always get himself into trouble and end up getting a lecture from Ward while June did all the chores and worried about Beaver.  Then there was Wally who would try to cover up for him, sometimes vice versa.  They always said things like "Golly gee, Beav."  ::)

I remember one episode where Beaver was wearing a leather jacket, and Ward and June were all worried that he was turning into a rebel. At the end, Ward talked to him, and Beaver no longer wore the jacket, and he left his rebelious ways behind him. *sappy grin*

If every word I said
Could make you laugh
I’d talk forever (together my love)
I ask the sky just what we had
Mmm it shone forever
(together my love my my my my my my my my my my my my my)
If the song I sing to you
Could fill your heart with joy
I’d sing forever (together my love my my my my)
Forever
Forever
I’ve been so happy loving you

Do do do do do do do do do together my love

Let the love I have for you
Live in your heart
And beat forever (together my love)
Forever
Forever
I’ve been so happy loving you

Baby just let me sing it my baby
I wanna be singin’ my baby
Baby baby baby my baby
I wanna be singin’
I wanna be singin’ my baby
Oh oh oh oh
My my my my my my

So I’m goin’ away
Mmm but not forever
Na na na na
I gotta love you anyway

Forever

What kills me was how in the episode about the beauty pagent, it was revealed that Kelly can't sing, yet later on, she's a world famous singer in the Zack Attack

Also, we mustn't forget the episode where the girls under the name "Hot Sundae" recorded a music video for a song called "Go For It"  ;D
