Hey, I was wondering if anyone here uses/has used NetFlix before? I was thinking about setting up an account with them, as it seems like a cool and convenient thing...but I wanted to hear some responses from people who have used it before going ahead with a membership.  When they quote a monthly price...is it ALWAYS that price or does it go up with extra charges?  Is it easy to cancel if needed? Etc....

Oh yeah, I loved it! I managed to get my hands on so many obscure movies that were awesome! And I also got them in about a day. Great stuff. Once I have money, I'm going to join again.

Ive given up on blockbuster and currently only use netflix...greatest invention ever.  well, its not really an invention, but whatever. 

its a perfect way to get obscure movies, or movies that blockbuster wont carry, etc etc......amazing service.  The price, I believe stays the same.  I just wish I had more time to watch the movies I rent

well since this thread, I was a member of Netflix...then we cancelled it due to not having much money. Now, I decided to join Blockbuster online...which is basically identical to Netflix, however with Blockbuster, you can return the movie to a Blockbuster store and get a new movie on the spot (a feature that Netflix doesn't have). Also with Blockbuster, you can pay via your bank account (an E-check), whereas Netflix requires a credit/debit card.

My brother uses netflix and he loves it, but I would never use it.  I don't ever rent movies anymore, but if I ever were to, i'll just go to a video store.  They don't really like me at video stores though, cause whenever I buy DVDs, I always make them find an absolute scratch free copy, or close enough lol

I like companies like Netflix or Blockbuster Total Access Online because it only costs about $10 a month.....and you can rent movies one after another. The video rental store that we used to go to that is near us charges like $3.99 per new release.....which is a ripoff compared to the $10 a month we pay for the online service.

My father just purchased a membership, I think for the next full year.. we tried two random movies to see how well it worked (one new and one old and semi-obscure) and they sent both within 2 days.. very nice.

I wonder if your DVD player is not able to play through smaller scratches.  We have an older DVD player and a newer one.  The older DVD player always seems to get stuck when DVDs have scratches.  We put the same disc in our newer player and don't have a problem.

You can buy relatively inexpensive disc repair kits that will fix scratches in DVDs and CDs.  Just buy them wherever you buy CDs and DVDs.

We have an Apex one that was cheaper than the other one we bought, and works better.. it's great.

I had a Cyberhome that I got for the kids.  It would always get stuck...scratches or not.  It was if it would overheat or something.  All I would have to do is blow air in the player for a few minutes and the thing would work for a little while and then get stuck again. ::)  The DVD players that I was talking about in the other post are both Samsung.

HOLY CRAP MIKE!!!! 

We had a Netflix membership for a while, but we found we weren't really watching the movies when they came so we canceled it....I had 2 movies for over a month and never got around to watching them ;D

it’s funny because i’m looking back over that list and there are a few clunkers in there but yeah, those are all pretty much movies i wanna see.

hmm, 450-odd movies (including the ones on my saved list), figure an average of 90 minutes apiece, that’s about 675 total hours, let’s see... 24X7=168 hours, only a little more than one straight month of watching movies (assuming i never sleep) would be enough to get through the whole thing.

i was thinking more along the lines of pom-pom girls and orgazmo, but i have to admit that the flying nun and gilligan's island are both the stuff of enduring adolescent fantasy. mary ann! omg!

We do the Blockbuster Online...because you get your movies faster. We used to have Netflix...but they don't send out movies on the weekend, whereas Blockbuster does.
