The only two members I can recall making me laugh are Andrew and jiminy.  Since Jim was banned, I believe that Andrew is the funniest member.

We each have our own groups here, even if we mean to or not. Of course Beth, Dominic, Marshall and I are gonna group together.. we're all in the same age bracket. Likewise, the older members tend to stick together a little more. Cliques just form sometimes, and it's not like they have any REAL harm. So, you can't have a conversation with the 14-year olds.. come back later. I do the same thing when, say, it's only Paul and CeramicsFanatic on at the same time as me.

I try not to be in a group personally because I don't like cliques but do appreciate that I talk to some people more than others. I like to talk to everybody equally but sometimes it's pretty difficult to talk about 'dicking' when I haven't got a clue about what you are talking about.  ;D

I'm right there with you dude - I think you've got a natural sense of humor, even without trying to.

But, making yourself laugh is hard. I've sometimes made a routine or a joke and thought, "Oh, that's observational" or "interesting" but I've rarely made myself bust out laughing.

I think I'm more funny in a subtle, storytelling way, as opposed to more instantly funny. You strike me as the latter.

maybe the problem is with them and not with you.  Perhaps they are the types that cannot focus in on a conversation, or they are the types that would rather be talking instead of listening....whatever the reason may be...that gives them no right to get annoyed with you and be vocal about it!

Thanks Erin. As Andrew said... Maybe I just don't fit in with Californians? I don't see how it would matter.. but..

I just need to find someone with my sense of humor. Which is hard. I think I'd get along with a couple people here.. but they all live far away!!!

This is a messageboard. The entire thing's "cliquey."

There's the 80's board clique, the 90's board clique, the PPP board clique. There's even cliques within those cliques. Every single thread is a clique in itself. If you're not one to "Ask Apricot," you're not in the "Ask Apricot" clique.

This entire place is designed to segregate, for the good of everybody.



So what do you do? I'll tell you what I do-

I don't go in the "Recipe Box." Because it's not my place to go. I'm not a recipe person, I don't belong there.





In short, if you're getting angry at the fact that we have jokes with friends...

... Chill out. Zip past those posts. Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to read every post on the board. A couple of pages ago, I zipped past a conversation between Marty and Erin (Haha, sorry ;)). And yanno, I'm not feeling any angrier towards them for having a conversation.

I hear ya! ;)  I think some people just get, not necessarily mad or upset...just aggravated that perhaps a lot of threads are taken up with "inside joke" kind of stuff....things that they cannot relate to or have no idea what is going on.  There are times when the threads go off on a tangant...and we are all guilty of doing this...but what I think they are trying to say is that there is a difference in going off on a tangant about certain singers, groups, movies, stores, etc...things that they could perhaps join in on, as they might have some sort of interest/knowledge regarding the subject matter...versus the emotion eric, certain quotes from songs/websites, and other random things that make no sense to "some".  I could totally understand the fact of let's say skipping over certain threads because you know that is what most likely goes on in there (the ask threads, longest thread ever, etc..)...but lately it has been trickling into many other "mainstream" threads...where there is more traffic flow..etc.  Please don't take any of this the wrong way...I am just merely explaining how some people may feel regarding the matter. :) ;)
