Okay, I know that the popular process of obtaining music is downloading it off the internet, but at least some of you have a few albums...  Right?  Right?

Alright...my favorite album is "One By One" by the Foo Fighters.

In recent times, one of my fave albums was Lifeblood by the Manic Street Preachers.  Alternative Rock at it's finest http://www.dermatitisherpetiformis.org.uk/phpBB2/images/smiles/thumbsup.gif

Too... Many... Can I just name albums essential to my collection?

Abbey Road by The Beatles
Ummagumma by Pink Floyd
Mutations by Beck
Good News for People Who Like Bad News by Modest Mouse
Duty Now For The Future by DEVO
Most albums that are by They Might be Giants
The Beatles (The White Album)- The Beatles
Stunt-Barenaked Ladies
Freak Out! Absolutely Free. We're Only In It For The Money- Mothers Of Invention
XO-Elliott Smith

those are some of them.

Also, a couple years ago, I took a mathematical approach and found at the time my favorite album was "What Are You Going To Do With Your Life?" - Echo And The Bunnymen... great album.

Wow, a very unpedestrian taste in music you have.  Cool.

A recent one I've been listening to over and over again: Bon Jovi's  "Slippery When Wet".

Albums are like Lays chips to me - "betcha can't have just one". ;D

So, if I were on a deserted island with ten CD's to listen to for eternity (not counting soundtracks, compliations or Greatest Hits, but good ol' studio albums), here's what I'd probably go with:

In 3-D - Weird Al Yankovic
White Album - The Beatles
Sports - Huey Lewis (this is the real Marty McFly's favorite album!) :)
Can't Slow Down - Lionel Richie
Born in the USA - Bruce Springsteen
No Jacket Required - Phil Collins
"Black" album - Metallica
Americana - Offspring
Bringing Down the Horse - Wallflowers
Lovin' Every Minute of it - Loverboy (I've been listening to this one alot lately)

P.S. As tempting as it was to pick all 80's, I wanted to diversify it a teeny bit. After all, this is the music I'm gonna be listening to the rest of my life (in my imaginary scenario at least! LOL). ;)

For each of my favorite artists:

Momus- Poison Boyfriend. The second half of this album contains a lot of my favorite songs ever.
Ween- The Pod. Sounds downright evil, the whole album.
Beck- Sea Change. Cause I'm emotional like that. XD Either that or Mellow Gold.
Voltaire- BOO HOO. Kinda like a Voltaire's "Sea Change". Came into my life at a time it was very relevant, which is why I love it so.
Old Time Relijun- Uterus and Fire. Best all-around OTR album.
Bright Eyes- Lifter. Haven't heard much, but I liked it.
Cake- Fashion Nugget. I don't like them a whole lot, but this has the most good tracks.
Soul Coughing- Ruby Vrooooom. The premier album, and still the best.
Modest Mouse- Either Sad Sappy Sucker or Lonesome Crowded West. LCW is downright INSANE. Bi-polar songwriters at their best.
Ugly Casanova- Sharpen Your Teeth. Only album they made, so..
Grandaddy- The Sophtware Slump. Love the technology metaphors and stuff.
The Unicorns- Unicorns Are People Too! Less professional then WWCOHWWG, but darker.
The Decemberists- Picaresque. Love it.
Cursive- The Ugly Organ. Only album I've heard, so...
The Shins- Chutes Too Narrow. The other albums suck. Especially "Oh, Inverted World".
Elliott Smith- From a Basement On The Hill. His posthumous release, still the best.
Interpol- Turn On The Bright Lights. See "Cursive"
Mates of State- Team Boo. See "Interpol"
Iron and Wine- The Creek Drank The Cradle. The low-fi sound helps it out.
Badly-Drawn Boy- The Hour of Bewilderbeast. Hands-down.
They Might Be Giants- Flood.
Blonde Redhead- Misery is a Butterful.
The Pixies- Death to the Pixies! The best of, and it really is.
The Killers- Hot Fuss. Only album.
Arcade Fire- Funeral. Only complete album.
Kaiser Chiefs- Employment. Only one I know well.
No Doubt- not any whole album.
R.E.M.- That best of they did a few years ago.
Some Coldplay
El Topo- Sounds of El Topo. And the parody of Momus he did.
Tilly and the Wall- Wild Like Children. And I don't like this a whole lot anyway.. just 2-3 songs.
Radar Brothers- AAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists- Hearts of Oak. And only a few tracks.
Brian Eno- Ambient #1, I think it's called.
Black Heart Procession- Either 3 or 2, probably 3. The biggest downer of all their albums, and that's saying a lot.
Camera Obscura- Uh.. yes?
!!! (ChkChkChk)- Louden Up Now.
Elephant 6 (Neutral Milk Hotel, Olivia Tremor Control, Circulatory System)- In An Aeroplane Over The Sea. Simply Awesome.
The Magnetic Fields- Holiday. I love the slow-techno thing.
Cornelius- Fantasma. Simply awesome.
Kahimi Karie- TILT. Only full album.
Daniel Johnston- Songs of Pain. Earliest, and still the best. Angsty.
(E)- Daisies of The Galaxy, or maybe Beautiful Freak.
Franz Ferdinand- Self-titled
Jack-Off Jill- Sexless Demons and Scars. And this is as far Metal as I go.
Ministry- Greatest Fits.
Moistboyz- O.G. Simpson. Hilarious.
Primus- Pork Soda.
Wilco- A Ghost Is Born
Silver Jews- Probably American Water
Radiohead- OK Computer

I might do that.... I guarantee, once you hear "Amnesiac", you'll have a new fave for Radiohead

Daisies of The Galaxy, A Ghost is Born... Sea Change.... good selection!

And if you're looking for a good They Might be Giants album... I suggest John Henry... Strongly

Oooh, John Henry.. I have "Why Must I Be Sad?" from that one. I kinda like "The Spine", what I've heard.. especially "Memo To Human Resources".

I heard a lot of Amnesiac... I think "OK Computer" appeals to me just because it was (and still is) relevant to my life at the time I discovered it.. "No Surprises" and "Fitter, Happier" are among my favorite songs of all-time, because of how well they work for me.

Why Must I be Sad is what I mostly had in mind  ;D

The spine is good... but I don't think you'd like some of Flansburgh songs, such as "Damn Good Times" "It's Kickin' In" and "Prevenge".. but I'm sure you'd like the rest of that album
