Subject: Members on Google

Written By: YWN on 11/09/05 at 11:36 am

I got this idea from this thread...

Type your screenname on inthe00s and see where you show up.  My profile shows up as the third link.

Oh yeah, and my parody author name "Your Worst Nightmare" shows up sixth.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Based on the American Billboard Hot 100, here's a list of artists who only had 1 hit appear into the charts.¦nbsp; The chart positions appear in the brackets.¦nbsp; Some of these artists have had other hits in other countries, or other hits as part of bands (ie: Glenn Shorrock, Mike Reno, Robin Zander, John Taylor, etc ...), but on their own / in America, they were all one hit wonders.¦nbsp;

The songs in blue are ones that reached the top 40
The red words differentiate which was the one hit wonder in a duet

I know what all of these songs sound like, and I gotta say, some of them shouldn't have been hits

- 1987 -

American Dream – Simon F
As We Lay – Shirley Murdock
Boom Boom (Let’s Go Back to My Room) – Paul Lekakis
Boytoy – Tia

2,050,000,000

HAHAHA! I'm not even gonna look for that one.

2,050,000,000 is 2 Billion and 50 Million.

Or in standard scientific form (for those of you who like that kind of thing)

2.05 10 to the 9th Power

Bah. I type in Dak, and 2,950,000 results come up... and i'm not even in the first 50 pages!  :(

To make matters worse... there are 6 other Daks in the first 50 pages, in these following forums;
Playlist Magazine forums, UemForums, Macworld Forums, Classic Car Forums, Cad-Forums and just to really kick sh*t in my face there's even ANOTHER DAK FROM THE UK in ScienceForums.net! It's not fair!  :\'( :\'(

The first two were from here-my profile and my stats. But the third said something about the "personal websites by CatwomanofV" and when I clicked on it, it was a porn site.  :o  And I didn't see "personal websites by CatwomanofV" anywhere on the page.

Yeah, I finally figured that out. I hit "Cached" and got the REAL page. But man, that was bizarre. I think Google is trying to mess with my head (just like the donkey thing when I put my name in the images).

How does this work?

just use the "search" function on this webpage. type in your handle, and see what you come up with.

at least i think so.

of course, it helps to be fictional.  :)

No, you're supposed to search on Google.  I thought the title of the thread would have cleared that up.

dag, mr. letter of the law! i read this language

"Type your screenname on inthe00s and see where you show up.  "

to mean do the search on this web site.

anyway, my results searching the web site internally were much more interesting than googling it. but either one would be fine, i'm sure... :)

LOL when I search my main screen name whistledog, sitcomsonline.com comes up.  Apparently another Canadian with the name whistledog joined the messageboards there back in 2000.  I know it ain't me  I didn't start using messageboards until 2004 ;D
