Subject: Cheerio

Written By: Alchoholica on 11/29/05 at 4:15 pm

I'm fairly tired of all the Politiking and all the behind people's back's nonsense.

The vast majority of people here are fine, but ya know, i enjoy killing time and messing around here, I'd really rather not be dragged in to all the sad little personal vendetta's.

"She said this" "He said that"

Well i say.. "Get a flipping life"

If any of the people i liked (and it's easy to tell if you are one of them) would like to get in touch with me, your welcome to ask Beth, Andrew, Kim, Chrissy.. or.. other people who i can't remember for my e-mail address.

Goodbye

Sorry to see you go, Andy... but like the others, I think you'll be back.

I know I've said it before, but I normally can't stand message boards and chatrooms.  This is the only one I really go to regularly, and that is because it is so similar to a real life "community" with different personalities... some that get along, some that don't.  We get to see the lovey-dovey stuff, the arguments, the scandals, the men who pose as lesbians, the heated political debates...

And I admit, I enjoy it when there's commotion around here... it gets a little boring when all that's being posted is "what color are you wearing today" and "What song are you listening to"  (not to say those are bad threads or anything...i think you get my point)

I hope nobody else decides to intentionally get banned or delete their accounts...don't forget all the fun times you've had here just because you're pi$$ed off about something at the moment...

It's not that people are pissed right now, I don't think.. this place has gone downhill a LOT recently... every argument is turned into a victimization, everyone's getting dragged in to other people's issues, barriers are going up.. even if you deny it, part of you KNOWS it's happening. No one here can deny that this place is changing in some way or another.

I know it.. and frankly, I don't like it.

From my older post:

Normal disagreements are turning into huge, side-based fights... people have suddenly been at a total loss for any sense of humor or sarcasm... the cliques are becoming VERY defined, and growing further and further apart.

If the issues were brought up and solved via PM's, instead of on the boards, this would not happen.  As soon as it's posted on a public message board, it becomes everyone's business.

These aren't issues to resolve in PMs... these aren't personal vendettas, they're issues concerning the board.

It's when people get in and start taking sides that it BECOMES a vendetta, but a very public one.

They could still be solved via PM's though.  Airing them on the board only causes a bigger commotion than needs to happen

Nah, I have been around for a long time and the board goes through these phases.  People come and go.  Fights happen.  Only thing different is the people involved.

I agree that this place has changed, which is part of the reason I haven't been here so much lately.  (Although it is kind of nice to actually get things DONE for a change instead of being on here all day)

This isn't the first time it's changed for awhile though, and then suddenly sprung back into normalcy.  Think back to when Howard got banned.  All I'm saying is you can stop coming here without deleting your account.  Because things will get back to "inthe00s normal" eventually.

Possibly, yes.. however, when I see a personal issue go down on the boards, I can't say I've ever felt obligated to stand up for someone or takes sides. It's people's choice to ignore it, or get involved. It's not like they dominated the board... they were limited to 2, maybe 3 threads at best.

Until Justin decided to be a so-called "post-whore" and make several of his own that the moderators had to delete.  Those threads were very hard to ignore, what with being on the first page, where all the legitimate threads should have been.

This isn't like the other changes.. when Howard got banned, things changed... but not like this.

This change is very hostile. People are jumping into fights, taking sides, and the cliques are becoming bitter, really.

Do you think it has anything to do with the fact that some adults have left (jiminy, rarf, bobby, etc) and we have been seeing more of the younger people??  If that's what you're talking about, the clique thing is inevitable because for the most part, adults have completely different things to talk about than teens do.  I guess people like you, Andy and Beth have always been kind of like a bridge between the adults and the teens...because you guys can go both ways.. you can engage in intelligent conversation with adults, and still talk teen.  That way everyone was involved in the conversations.  Well, now Andy's gone.. so all I can say is...

London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down... :\'(

We USED to be the bridge... the adults that have been a dominant part of the forum recently (for the most part) are very hard to bridge with now.

Someone has to keep this bridge together and it might as well be me. ;)
