Subject: The Inthe00s list of best albums of all-time

Written By: Zoso on 12/05/05 at 11:43 pm

I don't know if this is the right section. But I'll post it here anyway. I thought it be cool to make a list of the best albums of all-time according to you guys. I think the best way of doing it is nominate 10 albums each, which you think are the best of all-time. Then I'll leave nominations open for a while before counting up all the nomination and putting all the albums in a list. Then I'll make a poll so everyone can vote for albums on the list. I'll leave the poll open for a while before counting up all the votes and ordering the albums into a list. Then we got the Inthe00's list of best albums of all-time. Who's in? C'mon, it'll be fun  :)

There are some rules regarding nominations:
1) It has to be a regular studio album (no compilations).

My nominations:
Thriller (Michael Jackson)
Purple Rain (Prince)
What's Going On (Marvin Gaye)
Innervisions (Stevie Wonder)
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (The Beatles)
Modern Sounds In Country & Western Music (Ray Charles)
Dark Side Of The Moon (Pink Floyd)
Stand! (Sly & The Family Stone)
Let It Bleed (Rolling Stones)
Smile (Brain Wilson)

now your turn...

Looking good... but try and pick albums for their cultural impact and influence, and musical genius. These albums in the list are good, but we need more albums like Sgt. Pepper's and that sort of thing that were really huge albums at the time, and they were musically genius. (But don't nominate Sgt. Pepper's coz it's allready on the list). So do you see what I'm saying? Rather than listing you're favourite albums, list albums that you would consider the greatest ever (which coincidentally may be your favourite).

Thank you for voting guys. Keep em' coming! There's 45 albums in the list, I think we should get it up to a nice even 50. I was hoping for 100, but maybe we wont get that far. To bump up the numbers, here's another 5 albums that I think should be in the list. You can add another 5 if you've allready put in 10. It doesn't matter.

Dangerous - Michael Jackson
Sign 'O' The Times - Prince
Highway 61 Revisited - Bob Dylan
Bat Out Of Hell - Meat Loaf
Faith - George Michael

OK. There's 50 now. Voting is still open, but if we can't get to 100 or 75, we'll stick with 50. So if you haven't voted/nominations, type in your 10 favourite albums (take into considerations cultural influence and musical genius).

Great choices ktelqueen! However, ABBA Greatest Hits isn't a regular studio album. Do you want to nominate one of their studio albums? Ring Ring, Waterloo, ABBA (self titled), Arrival, The Album, Voulez-Vous, Super Trouper, The Visitors.

No its cool. I'll include all your 21 albums. That'll help bump the numbers up to 100. But from now on, everyone vote under 10 albums, please.
