The usual items of clothing, etc. but the piece de resistance is this brand new 'box' which I'm using right now...

And, by gum, is it fast! I'll be having nosebleeds any minute...

Sadly, I'll have to take the monitor bit back, as that's not functioning as it should (I'm using the old lump here!)

And this 'xp' malarkey will take some getting used to...!

My youngest step-daughter who works at McDonald's knows how much I "love" (yes, I'm being sarcastic) McDonald's, gave me a whole bunch of cards for free food. So, I thinking that I guess I will be eating at McDonald's a lot but then she told me that all the cards were expired and there was nothing on them. I was VERY grateful. (Yes, she did it as a gag gift and yes, I laughed.)

We got pictures and a basket full of "the taste of Puerto Rico", and other little stuff. We told the kids not to "buy" us anything. But the best gift was having the kids here and winning big time playing Texas Hold 'Em last night.  ;D

she'd probably be scorned, and maybe she can exchange for a more petite size or you could use as bedding for your dog. Once my mother-in-law got me this oversized putrid yellow winter jacket, it was pretty hideous and I just said later it was too big and could we perhaps exchange it for smalller, she ended up gettin me something else.

Nothing!  :D ;D ;D

Actually, not exactly true. We told the kids not to buy us anything (but we will except personal gifts like pictures, or homemade stuff).  One of my step-daughters gave us a bunch of homemade soap. The other kids didn't listen and bought us a bunch of Pete Seeger CDs. While we both love Pete Seeger, they didn't have to do that. Oh, and we got that lighthouse lamp that my sister made-EVERYONE got one.  :-\\ My poor niece and her sigificant other-for some reason, my sister thinks they need TWO-so every year, they get 2 of whatever she decided to make. Everyone in the family says the same thing-"Yeah that is nice and we know how much work you put into these things but PLEASE don't make us anything else." (Actually, I don't think anyone has the heart to tell her NOT to make them). But, it is kind of a family joke now.

The Young Ones DVD set.
The newest Bill Bryson book.

Then.. my darling mother decided to deviate and picked up two things.
The first was possibly the most revolting thing ever. I'm glad I opened gifts on my own because although I try hard to be nice about these kind of things, I was actually disgusted by the turd brown sweatshirt she thought would suit me. I was almost upset, she obviously thinks I look like a turd.  ;D

Then I guess she saw a lot of people wearing these - http://www.charmandising.com/images/_PRODUCT/RAM0502.jpg because I have one of those.. except it's red and yellow.. which is.. horrid. So I'm gonna see if I can trade it for a black one. I don't do colors. I like being able to wash all my laundry in the same load.  ;D

What are all the new properties/utilities/etc?  They don't show it on the box so you gotta buy one to find out :P

I opened it up this morning and went through it but can't seem to remember much.....

Grabbing the game now.....

Ok, tons of info:

Game pieces - Motorola Cell, Toyota Prius, Starbucks Coffe Cup, McDonald's French Fries, New Balance Running Shoe, a Labradoodle, a Jet Plane and a Laptop.

Gameboard - the title deeds now represent the 22 most popular vaction spots in the USA and have been increased to reflect todays Market value. (I won't list them all but Boardwalk is replaced by Times Square and Park Place is replaced by Fenway Park.

Utilities - are now service providers: Internet Sevice and Cell Phone Service

Luxury Tax - replaced with Interest Due on Credit Card Debt

Railroads - have been replaced with the 4 busiest Airports.

Game play:
Each player is given $15,000,000 to start. All game play is exactly the same as the original, however, passing go results in an earning of $2,000,000. Income Tax is now pay 10% or $2,000,000. Houses are blue, hotels are Silver and follow the original rules. Everything else is the exact same.

Mike and I are going to play it tomorrow so I will let ya know how it turned out. :)

- Electric toothbrush
- Foodsaver Vacuum Packaging system
- Iron
- "The Audrey Hepburn Treasures" book
- Justin Timberlake's newest CD
- Socks
- Walt Disney Treasures DVD "Walt Disney as your Host"
- Costume jewelry
- Frames
- Photo Albums
- Computer gadgets (an arm rest)
- $25 gift card to Best Buy
- James Taylor Christmas CD
- "Avalon" DVD
- Nice, taupe colored blanket
- Slippers

My Grandma sent me a card with $50.00

I got my boyfriend a Chorisia Speciosa tree, better known as the Silk Floss Tree. It's one of the prettiest trees you'll ever see in bloom. We saw it at Disneyland and since he is very fond of botany, I ordered this tree all the way from Florida! It's tiny, but it's adorable and at a good point for him to alter it to his liking! I also got him some flat fronted Dockers I special ordered for him because they're hard to find in his size (34x36).

My mom got a 19'' Samsung Monitor screen for her PC. WOW, it was SO cool to hook that up for her and look at the vibrant color. She recieved that from a male friend.

I've been looking for it ever since it came out here last summer.  Our Wal-mart never had it as far as I could determine.  :(

Me too.  :D

Also the obligatory chocolate & t-shirts. But really, the best thing about Christmas isn't the gifts.

I received some awesome music, mostly latter-period Sinatra stuff, as well as Strange Days by The Doors, and the Beatles' Live at the BBC sessions. Some very good books, including this year's instalment of Guinness World Records, though with modern-day insta-report and pseudo-insta-update sites now available on the Internet, written books I have found are becoming more and more obsolete as time goes on.

I also received some teeny tiny little post-it notes, which are going to become very useful in the weeks to come.

The Cynthia Sylvia Stout shampoo works hella good, but my hair smells like beer now. :D

I got a total of 75$ for Christmas.  That seems like alot, but it all came from my relatives.  My dad skipped Christmas (like he does every year lol), and my mom couldn't afford to get me anything.  It's all good though.  I got my mom something real nice and to see the joy on her face is all I wanted this year :)

That's nice, Whis. I'm glad I'm not the only Christmas minimalist.

I didn't really 'get' anything either, per se. My dad's sending me some dough as a gift, don't know how much, but that will be pretty much it. I'm not a gift fiend, but it's nice to get a couple because it means that people think about you.  :)

One thing I consider a sort of gift was getting to talk to all my family on the phone which was a really nice thing because I hate to be away from them on Christmas. I celebrated with friends the night of the 24 and early morning of the 25 which was very nice. The best gift was an indirect one from my aunt. It's technically a gift to my cousin, where she's going to give him money to come and visit me in the spring. But my cousin and I are closer than brothers so it's actually a gift to me as well, and I can't wait till spring. He's American, but he's been up here before with me and he really loves it so I know we're going to have a great time.

I only bought two gifts this year. I bought my nephew a couple DVDs, and for my two cousins I had a picture of us together when we were little blown up to small poster size, and I am sending each of them a copy. We're all very close and I know they'll love it.

The stuff I knew I was getting:

Kodak Easy Shot 613
Koadk All in One copier, printer, scanner...I printed 7 4x6 pictures yesterday (and found out that Kodak paper is in fact better than HP photo paper)
The Outfield "Play Deep" CD from Micah
jeans
3 short sleeve sweaters (red, grey, black)
2 long sleeve shirts (grey, burgundy)
gloves

The surprise:

A very large bag that was a "care package" from my mom.  I won't bore you with all the contents (because it is mostly household stuff like laundry detergent, etc.), but it also had a couple new Sudoku books in it.

Micah loved all of her birthday and Christmas gifts and the Stuffed Balloon was a big hit.  I think her favorite gifts (besides the cell phone she got as an early gift) were all the stuff with Michigan (as in University of) on it, the Chicago Bears Monopoly game and the 8" portable DVD player (which was her Christmas surprise).

I got instant lottery tickets for everyone.  Micah won $8, Dad won $4 (gave it to M), I won $2 and Mom hasn't scratched hers yet.  :)

I also got this neat euk for when the Mrs. wants to drive the M-60.  I traded in the pickup for the euk but I took a hit on it when I accidently ran it over taking the euk home.

Sorry for posting so late, but here's what I received last Christmas:

The Simpsons Movie on DVD - probably the best animated film of 2007.
A beautiful optical mouse that came with a matching mousemat - a bargian at £8.
Some shiny photo albums - just what I need.
A selection of sweets including Galaxy Mistletoe Kisses, Mars delight and Hershey's Cookies and Cream as well as some rather retro treats like the newly relaunched Gold Nuggets Bubble Gum. I can still eat them as long as I include them as part of my Weight Watchers Points allowance.
Gwen Stefani L gift set that includes her fragrance, shower gel and body lotion.
Boots Fresh! Cocktail Surprise - an indulgent selection of bath treats that come complete with a sponge, a cocktail tumbler and a swizzler stick.
Rub-Ons - transfers that I can apply to a number of surfaces including wood, paper and plastic
Punky Fish Tainted Talons Set
Miko Cat Nail Polish Trio
Rain Forest Toiletry Set
Palmolive Aromatherapy Sensual Shower Gel
Two Boots Fresh! bath pearl and keyring sets - I gave one of them to my former personal trainer as a leaving gift.

In addition to the above gifts, I also received £50 cash from my parents which is also the allowance they pay me every month.
