I've felt pretty good today, despite the rain. Hopefully the Rose Parade will not be battered by storms tomorrow morning. I can't imagine how they'd hold a parade with heavy rain coming down. If anything, they'll postpone the start time of it.

Lately,I've been getting a lot of mixed messages about Robin & I.My gut feeling knew this was going to happen but it happened and now I must pay the consequences for god knows how long this time off will take before I get to see her again or maybe not even at all.My friends are saying that I shouldn't keep on being fixated on her and you'll never make a 6-figure salary or even close to that cause it might not even happen. My friends are also saying that Robin may not be good for me and she may look for her other options while taking some time off meaning she might be checking out other guys which I'm scared about.Once I get a part time/full time job,I'm thinking that Her parents are looking for other expectations like marriage or possibly even a car and that's even more stressful in my life right now which I can't even think about at the moment. My Mother is saying that there's no excuse that you could find anybody better than her.Robin's Parents have put me through a lot of stress and the stupid deadline that ended, making my job coach rush like a mad animal to help me get this job but It's too late now.Do you think I should stick with her and see what happens or not,What do you say about all this? ???

^ Stick with her, definately Howard. Screw her parents (not literally). I think you just just stay with her anyway. Sounds to me like her parents are just looking for excuses and reasons to be picky. I would just ignore them and stay with her regardless

Anyway, today i'm feeling full of energy, but a bit miffed that because I woke up at 2:40pm, I don't have time to go out and do anything (like visit my nana, which was the original plan)  :(

my opinion is you should try to fix it out, but don't be too heartbroken if it doesn't work out, because it seems her parents are giving you tasks that are near impossible. Keep trying, but don't expect it all to work.

Well...for the first time in, I don't know, four years, my dad came with the rest of us to church yesterday.  I have an older brother who is retarded and my dad always had to stay home with him, but now he lives somewhere else.  He also came with us to the "Ebenezer party" at our church.

Here are some quality quotes from that event.

I. Huh?

Laura:  Ugh, I don't like these ipod things, they're so stupid.  I mean, with a CD you get a case and a cover, but...with ipods...you don't.
Me:  Well, you can buy a CD, rip it to your computer, and download it to your ipod.
Laura:  Oh...er......
Kristen:  Marshal, have you ever taken a debate class?
Me:  ...no...?
Kristen:  You should.  You'd be really good.
Me:  ....er.....kay.

II.  Redundancy

Ransom:  Hey Marshal, did you listen to that Led Zeppelin record?
Me:  Yeah, both sides!  I liked it.  (explaining to Kristen)  It was a vinyl record.
Kristen:  What?
Ransom:  He found one of his dad's old vinyl records...
Me:  It was Led Zeppelin...it was a vinyl record.

I have seen it twice in Toronto....but never in Pittsburgh (where it is coming this month). Chris has never seen it...so he agreed to take me. We called for tickets today and would you believe...we bought the very last 2 tickets before they totally sold out!! :o  They are pretty good seats, the only drawback is that they aren't right next to each other..there is 1 seat in between (we have seats 25 & 27)...so we are hoping that whoever sits there will let us sit together. Keep your fingers crossed! ;)  This is like a combination anniversary/birthday gift, since they are so close to one another (anniversary is the 16th, b-day is the 26th).

That sounds wonderful. I have yet to see it on stage (seen the movie-actually I have the movie on DVD).  I'm sure that person wouldn't mind switching seats. I'm not going to say have a great time because I know you WILL!!  Again, I am sooooo jealous!!

Feelin' rather lazy today. Tomorrow my parents have to go back to work. I, on the other hand, will probably be staying home for most of the month, since I don't start the Spring semester of school till the end of the month. I don't have anything planned yet; maybe I'll do some more volunteer work or something.

I think it would be a good idea right now since I have a part time job waiting at Au Bon Pain soon.Like they always say, good things work out in the end and for me they usually do.I'm guessing that their expectations are for me is to get and to try to keep a part time job without having to lose it.But you never know what might happen years from now if they want any other expectations such as an apartment, marriage or some type of car but I'm going to try to not worry myself to death over them cause those are just petty expectations.Like I said to her when Her And I finally get back together and she's able to drive her Parent's Car again,I was willing to be a nice boyfriend and to go half and half with her for the gas in the car which is the right thing to do since I've been selfish in 2005 and I want to change my habits for the new year and make her happy physically, mentally, sexually and emotionally. After all this,I would like to put all situations and problems in the back of my head and to focus more on prioritizing my goals for 2006. :)

You should really have a serious talk with Robin about how much she is going to let her parents stick their nose in your relationship later on.  If she is only allowing it because she needs a roof over her head, I can understand that.  But you should make sure she will be ready to tell them to mind their own business later on if they keep trying to control your relationship.

When we get back together, whenever that'll be I will have a talk with Robin about her Parents. She tells me that she's tired of them yelling at her about me or anything that's wrong about me.She makes $10 and hour at a job she feels most comfortable with but If she wound up having an arguement over me,They would wind up kicking her out of the house and most likely she could live with me for the time being until she can get her own apartment. But,Let's not worry about what will be,worry about the present and the good things in life. :)

I don't think today is my day.

First i woke up and went to put my dogs in the backyard, and I noticed this stream of water shooting about 7 feet in the air coming from a dirt bed in our backyard.  (Apparently there is something wrong with the sprinkler, but it's all electronic and I have no idea how to work it)  Luckily it's on a timer and it finally stopped.

Just now I went into the kitchen and found the light bulb has burned out.. and it's not a regular light bulb, it's one of those tube shaped ones that I have no idea how to change or how to make sure I buy the right one.  Since hubby is at work, I guess I will be cooking by flashlight tonight. :(

Some good news on the job front. My Job Coach is still trying to get in contact with the manager at Au Bon Pain. He's still calling but he's been getting the manager when he's been out to lunch so he's doing his very best.He also may contact Pathmark,Stop N Shop or Waldbaums for an entry level position and he'll mention me in the process. So It may not be too long before Robin And I get back together again cause I really miss her a lot and our Sunday get togethers with each other. When We do get back together again,I'm going to wind up having that feeling that I want to make really mad passionate love to her cause we've been away from one another for 2 weeks now.Hopefully,The end of the month or as early as February the latest,I should be starting work but we'll see what happens next.I'll keep youn updated with everything. :)

Oh Em Eff Gee. I went to work, thinking it was going to be a normal day. Turns out the computers went crazy, and we had to shut down the store. "Oh, that means I must be able to go home now! :-D", though Beth. Oop! Beth was wrong! I had to do inventory and count every item in the store by myself. 7 hours of pure counting. I.. hate numbers.

I hope thing work out as well as they should. My job coach is trying to help me out cause I told him that I was having loads of difficulty for employers calling me back for possible positions so I'm putting my fate in his hands cause he has connections with employers at Au Bon Pain,Pathmark and Waldbaums.I would take either or just something to get Robin and her stubborn Mother And Father off my god damn back cause being away from her is putting an empty hole in my heart cause I miss our Sundays together and going back to her house to watch movies + going out to dinner together.I will still pray that my job coach Mr Randolph will do a good job and hopefully you'll do the same to me. :)

There's a LedZep song that has some good lyrics I was reminded of as I read this post:
These are the seasons of emotion and like the winds they rise and fall
This is the wonder of devotion - I see the torch we all must hold.
This is the mystery of the quotient - Upon us all a little rain must fall.

lame?  not really, for what it's worth, I think it takes courage to post how you feel.

Isn't that weird how that happens.  I usually go from happy to numb.  I skip right over horrible...unless I am mad at someone.

Another thing I do......I come on here and I just look around at what everyone is posting and I feel kind of distant, like I don't belong.....and then other times I feel comfortable.  Weird.

I know what you mean about feeling lame.  So many times I started to post something like this and I end up erasing it.  I didn't want anyone to think I was trying to get symathy, but I really wanted to say how I felt.

No, that happens to me too... actually I've been really bad about getting things done lately... ever since Christmas I've been feeling like I'm not getting anything done.  I don't like it, but at the same time I can't get motivated to do the things I need to do.

I know how that is too... I can honestly say I have my worst nightmares when I'm awake.  Although I'm usually ok as long as I'm up... but if I lay down in bed and I don't fall asleep right away, I start having horrible thoughts, like I imagine gunmen breaking into our house or I imagine people I know dying... I don't have any idea why this happens... so I usually don't go to bed until I'm really sleepy...so I know I'll fall asleep quickly.

I'm not too sure what a sinus headache feels like... does it hurt near your sinuses on your face, or is it actually in your head?  When I used to get that sinus pressure I would get a jar of vicks vaporub and sniff it every few minutes... that seemed to help some...

Tried Advil-didn't help. I'm hoping the soup helps-with lots of garlic, ginger, onions, and I probably should throw in some horseradash but I really don't like it-but I know it will help. If that doesn't open my sinuses, I don't know what will.

A Navy jet from NAS Pensacola (where we are stationed) has been missing since yesterday.  There was a civilian pilot, one instructor, a Navy student and an Air Force student on the plane.  The plane doesn't have ejection seats so the likeliness of someone surviving is not good.  My husband used to fly those jets everyday and probably knew the pilot and instructor, needless to say he's really upset.  It's a little scary when it hits so close to home.  Of course it's the nature of the job and you try not to think about the worst, but when something like this happens it's a big time reality check.

Wow, okay.. my manager and I just got our lives threatened by a maniac that came into the store, just because we wouldn't give him as much money as he wanted for his Xbox. He spit in Jay's face, and called him just about every name imaginable. Apparently he's coming back to the store when Jay's done with his shift to 'finish him'. We called the police, but they said that he didn't cross the line enough to do anything (Whatever, the law sucks).

If he comes in again tonight, we'll be a waitin' fer 'im! Little does he of my manly strength and cat-like reflexes.

Well,Some more good news.My job coach & group therapist are going to talk to the manager at Au Bon Pain to give a good word about me and that they'll say something positive when I'm ready to get back to work again. He might also try Pathmark if Au Bon Pain doesn't happen. So,I'm feeling very positive that excellent things are happening even as I write. So,It won't be that long till I see Robin again.I'm in my own zone and I'm not letting anyone discourage me! :)

That's cool, Howard!  :)

Wow, okay.. my manager and I just got our lives threatened by a maniac that came into the store, just because we wouldn't give him as much money as he wanted for his Xbox.

I think the worst part of this story is that he had BAD BODY ODOR as you mentioned in the other thread.  I can handle just about anything strangers can dish out but not that.  You have my sympathies.....

I was talking with my job coach Last Wednesday after he had tried many times to get in contact with the manager at Au Bon Pain but failed,He decided to just go down there and give a great mention about me,Plus My therapist also gave a good word cause she knew the manager for many years and that's wonderful.I told my case manager that if something comes up,He would give me a call on my cell phone or at home.If Au Bon Pain doesn't work out,He'll try either Pathmark or Waldbaums,So good news will happen maybe not now but soon enough!I'm very eager to get back to work! :)

I feel your pain gemini, my daughter is a junior, & we're gonna send her down on her spring break to get a look at UCLA, her cousin's graduating this year and she's gonna show her around and see if she likes it. I'm gonna have to get really ready for this because I'm overprotective and gonna be needing xanax or something.

I posted ^ this story the other day.  As it turns out all four aboard the plane died.  Well, yesterday in the local news paper there was a story about the wife of the instructor who died.  It talked about their life together and it said that she is three months pregnant with their first child.

Here's where my reason for posting comes in....ever since I read that last night I have been feeling awful.  I feel really sad, I'm crying and sitting here imagining what she must be going through and I've never even met the woman.  What the heck is wrong with me?  I'm never like this.... :-\\

I can kind of understand BEING somewhat nonchalant... because my husband works in a medical clinic where he gets to know the patients, as he deals with the same ones all the time.  And from time to time they do pass away, and if he really let it affect him emotionally every time, he probably wouldn't be able to work there and help people.  But if he were talking to members of their families after they passed away, he would be saying how sorry he was, and how good of a person they were, etc... he wouldn't be all "Well, it happens.  He was old".

There's some more trouble brewing with Robin And I.Last Night,I asked Robin how her sister was and she said she's still attending NYU most likely to become a journalist or go into the fashion business and I associated fashion business with being a fashion model and she hung up on me without even saying goodbye. She must've took it the wrong way or found it as an insult cause she knows I have sex on the brain and that's why she didn't call me back that night. And Now she had said on the phone that"You can call me When you get That Job"cause she feels there's nothing else to talk about anymore with me.So we went from calling each other every day to now call me when you get that job.I found her to be a bit rude insensitive and a bit of a snub to me.But You Know,I'm not giving up on us,I'll get that job even if my job coach takes a while,He'll eventually do it.She has to learn to have patience sometimes.A job doesn't come from the sky,Her And her family has to realize that.If they don't have any patience, nothing will get done. It's as simple as that!

Howard, just remember that you first have to take care of yourself !

It seems that Robin can be quite rude at times, which is too bad.  She's lucky to have a guy like you interested in her.

You've been applying for jobs, right?  It takes time before somebody actually LANDS a job.  Its not like you are telling the job coach "I dont want to work", right?

Howard...what everyone else suggested is good....the main thing is to focus on finding yourself a job...for YOU.  I know you still care for Robin...but it seems like she needs to learn how to grow up and make her own decisions. Maybe it is good for the two of you to have some space.

Based on the places you're thinking of working, I'd say put your walking shoes on, say a little prayer, and go to some places and ask for an application. My older brother is limited in what he can do for a job, but he's found work as a maintnc/cleanup person at restaurants and fast food joints. You can do it, and maybe get it done before your coach does.

Quirk,I have to focus on myself which is my main goal. The problem is that she wants to shut me out verbally just because I have nothing to talk about anymore & I repeat the same old weekday routine which she's tired of hearing. All she wants to hear is good news but so far there hasn't been much of lately.I don't want her to shut me out,I want us to communicate and to keep us updated with each other. That's what relationships are all about. It goes both ways.I was thinking of possibly talking to her at least once a week or every other week. How do you see this situation? ???

I just don't think it is right of her to totally shut you out.  Relationships are about being supportive, being there for one another through good and bad times.  She seems very immature to me, like she needs a lot of growing up to do. That is why I said that maybe some space between the two of you is a good idea.  I know how much it hurts you not to be able to see her/talk to her....but you have to let her make her own decisions, even if they are bad ones.  Focus on bettering your situation..and if Robin is really the girl for you...she will come back...and if not, there are many nice girls out there.

Yeah Erin,It just seems that she's been insensitive to me lately but I'm definitely not giving up on her nor that I hope that she doesn't wind up giving up on me cause I know that I have a chance of bettering myself.Right now,I'll do what I have to do each and every day like go to my job coach on Wednesdays, volunteer Thursdays And Fridays and when the time comes,I'll give her a call who knows how long that'll be maybe a day, week, month, year whatever.I'm patient enough to have her back and that's one of my priorities for me. :)

Howard, I'm not trying to be mean here, but WHY do you "love" her so much?  If you had a friend who was saying the things you're saying, what would you tell him?  Like Erin said, relationships are about supporting each other through good times AND bad.  What if you DO get the job and the place goes out of business?  What if you get sick or hurt and can't work for a week or two?  Is she going to "cut you off" again?  Do you REALLY want your relationship to depend on a paycheck?  Right now, she knows that you're desperate to see/talk to her and will do anything, and I think she's taking advantage of that.  I think you should back off....don't call her....don't email her....don't make ANY attempt to contact her and see what she does.  Maybe once she realizes that you're not going to jump through hoops for her, she'll realize what a great guy you are - with or without a job. ;)

Thanks CM.I love communicating with Mothers on here. :)

Remember this quote...."If you love something...set it free...if it is yours, it will come back...and if it doesn't...it was never meant to be".  There have been many situations even in my own life, where I thought that the person I was with was the "ONE" for me....I even got married before and discovered that the person I thought he was...turned out to be horribly different than I imagined.  Don't sell yourself so short Howard...don't let Robin think that you are desperate for her...that's the worst thing to do.  Make yourself your #1 priority right now. It's a new year...with new goals that you can set for yourself....worry about that before worrying about Robin/or another relationship. ;)

Good for you. My ex's mother came to stay with us for 3 weeks-I was ready to pull my hair out (or pull her's out  ;D). A few years ago, Carlos' dad stayed with us for the summer. At first, I was thinking "Uh oh. Am I going to be able to live through this?" but he really was very pleasent and a very good guest.  :o  I guess it sums up the fact that I really do have the best in-laws. (Never met Carlos' mom-she died before I could met her.  :\'(  But what I hear about her was that she was something very special.

You have a point there Erin.I've got to worry about myself before I worry about Robin.I've got to be positive that I can get that job but hopefully It won't be too late cause there's some good news coming up.I talked with my job coach today and it seems that it's possible that I might get that job.I have a talk with the manager at Au Bon Pain this Friday after I volunteer at 3:30pm so my job coach will call me on my cell phone the day before to let me know what had happened with him and the manager. And plus,My therpaist might also be a part of this situation cause she knew the manager for many years so that's a good sign. Also,I might be discharged from my program which is another good sign. We'll just have to wait and see whatever becomes of this possible job interview on Friday,Doesn't mean I've got the job,He just wants to meet me in person and to know a little bit about me.My job coach will assist me if I have any trouble with anything.Getting back to work is my first priority then I'll let Robin know about my status.I'm looking forward to everything! :)

Robin finally got to return my call after I left a plea on her cell phone yesterday.I wanted to talk to her and didn't want her to shut me out like that just because there's absolutely nothing to talk about.Every day, there's something new.She just feels that I repeat myself with the same old routine day after day and lately there hasn't been any good news, just the same old crap.Anyway,She told me that she's been depressed and tired.I kind of wonder if her being depressed and tired all week has to do with me,Only one can wonder about that. What do you make of this situation? ???

well...just when I thought that I had good news concerning a job....I thought too soon.  I talked to the person that I was going to be working for and she said that she forgot to ask me an important question...."Is Vaughn totally potty-trained?" :-\\  Well....he is almost there...but we have been doing all we can and he still won't do #2 on the potty....and it is SO frustrating because we feel like we are at the end of the rope with him.  She felt really bad..but she said she couldn't have him in the pre-school class until he was completely trained...I totally understood and wasn't mad or anything. She said that when he was..to call her and if she still had the position open, she would definitely hire me.

I was upset at first...but I have some new ideas for my home business that will hopefully start to get on the roll....so I will be busy with planning for that. :)

My mom just came back from an interview with the principal of this Christian school, and he said he was very interested in having me enrolled (she showed him my test scores, etc).  I'm thinking perhaps I should be more optimistic about the whole thing.  Like Beth said, anything has to be better than homeschooling, and besides being around people my own age, I have more options in classes or extracurricular activities.

I'm looking forward to this Monday Morning at 945am when I have a job interview at Au Bon Pain.My job coach will be right beside me to be of his assistance if I need any help whatsoever. If I do get the job,I'll probably be starting a few weeks after. But from what I was told that the job duties include wiping tables, mopping the floor, fixing the condiments, doing the cash register, stocking and shelving, doing the coffee filters and working in the basement. They pay $6.75 an hr,I think but we'll have to wait and see what happens and I'll let you know if something comes up. :)

I'm doing good, thankful i didn't get too in between my 16 year old and my wife in a minor spat they had while out running errands. I knew they were angry at each other and were verbally expressing it. I usually end up intervening and then they aren't mad at each other, guess who the new target becomes! ME.  I have learned!!!! I was wise and just quietly spoke to each one and said, please just try to not speak to one another for 30min, because they obviously needed some cool down time. At first they didn't but then after some loving coaxing they did, and hopefully when they reconvene they will be able to communicate a little more calmly. And the best part is they're not mad at me. I'm gettin good at this.  8)

Tomorrow is my job interview at Au Bon Pain.I'm definitely looking forward to going back to work If I'm hired. This is something I've been longing for 13,14 years because I've been in so many programs/workshops trying to get me back into the work field that most or all of them had failed in doing what they had said they're going to do and never had accomplished it.I really want to work so badly and pretty eager about it.Good News is hanging in my favor so it won't be that long till I can call Robin and tell her that I've got the job & We can finally see each other.I just want to put this situation behind me,start fresh, new and pretend that this never happened. After all that,I can finally earn the respect of Robin And her Parents.Hopefully,They'll be able to respect me for what I do and not What I SHOULD be doing.I'll keep you updated when everything happens. :)

That's...really encouraging.

I just don't understand why parents would want to talk to their kids like that.  I mean, even in a moment of harsh anger, if you pissed me off, I might say something like, "Dammit, Beth!" or, "Beth, you idiot!"  ...But I wouldn't really think of saying, "Beth, you're a good-for-nothing and you're never going to add up to anything!"

Marshall, you're good for nothing and you're never going to amount to anything, furthermore, your personal hygeine leaves much to be desired.

It's a fairly inane statement anyway, how can you be good for nothing? That's impossible, at the very least i could set fire to you and burn you to keep warm. Most people generally have the ability to do several usefull tasks even if they're utterly socially retarded.

How can you never amount to anything, the only way that is feasible is to go ahead and die 5 minutes later.
You can be a friend, a brother, a sister, a mother, a father, a hard worker, a good student.. whatever. Those are all exceptional vocations.

I'm sorry. I hope you feel better soon.

As for me, I guess you can say that I feel relieved.  Carlos had to go in for his second corisone shot first thing this morning-as the snow was coming down. About 20 minutes after he left, the phone rang and it was him saying that he spun-out on the highway and they he and the car were fine. I called the hospital to tell them he will be late. And then I waited and waited and waited until he got home. When he pulled in, I felt so much better. He did tell me that several people stopped to help him-including an ambulance and fire truck that were passing by. One person let him use their cell phone and another guy with a pick-up, pulled him out of the ditch he was in before the tow-truck even arrived. It really gives me confindence in the humanity of people.

Well,I finally nailed the job interview at Au Bon Pain today thanks with the assistance of my wonderful job coach Mr.Randolph this morning. The manager reviewed my application and found it to be very impressive so he was pleased with that.My job coach said to the manager that"Howard needs a job badly",so he tried to convince to the manager that I was being sold in the right way and it worked in both of our favors. So,I was happy as a pig in slop to be getting back to work after 12,13 years and now I will call Robin and tell her that I'm starting on Saturday after an orientation from 3pm-5pm then I'll be working the rest of the night till 8pm.After That,The next Saturday will be regular hours from 12pm-6pm.I knew I'd get the position.Hey,1 day a week is not so bad for a start so if he likes me then He'll extend my hours and days so we'll see what happens.I'll keep you updated with everything. :)

nice job Howard...I am proud of you! :)

Thanks LB. :)

I really worked hard towards my goal. It's been a long time coming and I finally got the job.My job coach is great in selling his clients to the managers that he knows for many years so connections really do work in my favor.I'm going to forget what Robin's Parents said and focus on me.1 day a week on Saturdays 12pm-6pm is a good start then If he sees that I've been making good progress,He will increase my hours and days so we'll see what happens from there. Now Robin And I will go back to calling each other every day and we will finally get to see each other for our Sunday get-togethers since New Year's Eve December 31st.See,good fortune is happening and I'm happy as a pig in slop! :)

Also some other good news is that I'll be discharged from my program in about a few months or so. :)

That's great news, Howard...congratulations.

I most definitely am looking forward to seeing Robin again. It's been almost a month now and I plan for a small Ice Cream Party along with strawberries/cherries with whipped cream which is sort of like a getting back together reunion of some sort.Hopefully,When I go back to her house I won't have to hear her parents crap cause I already know them by now.But at this time,I'm going to try to earn the parents respect and in the future they'll respect me so they know that I'm a responsible boyfriend and I'll try to take care of their daughter physically, mentally, emotionally & sexually. It's going to be a long journey ahead. :)

Just my opinion for what it's worth, but when you talk to the parents about how you are going to care for their daughter physically, mentally and emotionally, I'd leave the sexually part out. lol  That may tend to freak them out a bit.

I couldn't believe my ears from what I heard from Robin what she had told me last night over the phone. She said that her Parents told her to tell me that"you're not considered boyfriend material"& Her Father also wants to see some proof as in a paycheck from me when I get paid or the workwear they're going to give me on Saturday.See,This is the crap I have to put up with but It's only a small expectation and I don't mind at all. They also want me to try to work more days but that won't happen yet.In another couple of months or so when I get used to being there,I will eventually talk to my supervisor about it.Just Not right now.

I understand that. I hit ice one time and my car did a 180 and I ended up facing in the opposite direction I was going. If there was any on-coming traffic at that time.... :o  I don't even want to think about it. Even though I didn't hit anything (except the brake  ;) ) I was pretty shaken-and several people who were behind me asked if I was ok. holy crap Beth! :o  I had a horrible experience last night. We were going into Greensburg and everything was fine....then it started to rain and thunder/lightning....then it started snowing SO hard...but it was STILL thundering/lightning.  Then...all of a sudden...the roads were covered with snow/ice...and I nearly wrecked 4 times. I slid off of the road...and could NOT stop...it was so scary.  I was too scared to drive home..so Vaughn and I stayed in Greensburg and ate dinner with Chris and the rest of the golf team..until the roads were cleared. I sometimes feel like I am in the background and nobody really "knows" me....I also don't fit into my surroundings well either...I always feel out of place almost everywhere that I go (unless it has to do with thrift/antique shopping, or the other stuff that I am really interested in...roadside attractions, defunct places, etc...when I am anywhere concerning those types of things...I feel just fine, but everywhere else I feel so out of place).

Howard, I get the feeling that they will NEVER like you unless you miraculously turn into Donald Trump.  What's next?  Are they going to micromanage EVERY aspect of your relationship?  IMO, it's not worth it.

I totally agree with Kim, Howard....what do these people expect from you?? Gosh, they gave you an ultimatum of getting a job by January (which you did), and now that is still not living up to their expectations...now they want you to work certain hours, get paid certain amounts or money, and worst of all....prove to them that you really have a job by showing them your uniform/paystub.....these people are nuts!  I agree that they are never gonna let up....if it's not the job and how many hours you work or how much money you make...then it will be some other petty thing.  Robin needs to decide what SHE wants and then she needs to either tell her parents that they need to butt out....or she needs to be honest with you and let you know that it isn't working out between the two of you....it's not fair of her to string you along like this...holding the thought of breaking up with you over your head...everytime she doesn't agree with something....that is just not healthy in a relationship AT ALL.

What he hell do they think I am? Donald Trump? I don't own a mansion, yacht, limo or make millions of dollars neither does she but she's trying hard every single day Like I am.I'm a human being who hasn't had work in 13 years and I'm trying to work hard on myself.Like they always say, please yourself before you please others and I intend to do so.You know,I'm going to have to live with the fact that they want expectations. Some of them might be small and some of them will be big and this is MY life with her, maybe. If Her Father wants to see a paycheck, that's ok,I don't mind one bit.If they want to see the uniform,It's ok.We'll have to see in the future what else they might come up with.

That's just it, though, Howard.  You shouldn't have to PROVE that to anyone but yourself.  What will happen if this place goes out of business?  Will they forbid you from seeing her again until you get a job?  What if they decide you don't make enough an hour?  Will they forbid you from seeing her until you get a higher paying job?  I just don't want to see you hurt down the road when they decide to keep her from you for good.  As I said in the PM, that's no way to live your life, always trying to live up to their UNREALISTIC expectations.

What if Au Bon Pain went out of business in the hospital lobby then what would happen to me? I guess my job coach would have to try to work on other places like Waldbaums or Pathmark if Au Bon Pain went out of business altogether. Thanks for caring so right now my focus is in the present and we'll see what happens in the future.I'll keep you updated. :)

If her father wants to see your uniform, tell him to get off his lazy a$$ and come down to Au Bon Pain on your shift.  >:(

Whoa... glad you're okay, Beth. Here in southern Californy, we don't have a great deal of snow (except in the mountains, but I seldom go up there), so avoiding mishaps like that is easy for me.

Glad you're ok.

Thanks, Jeff. :)

We found out today that our dog Jello has Mammary Cancer, same as breast cancer in humans. She has to go in tomorrow morning for surgery, then they'll biopsy it and see if it's malignant. She's a huge part of our family, and we're all worried sick. Please send some good vibes our way tomorrow.  :\'(

You didn't tell us he's a lawyer.  Don't be surprised if he's done a background check on you.  That could be why they hate you.  I agree with LB, tell him if he doesn't believe you to bring Robin and the family down while you're working.  That way they ALL can see you.  I WOULD NOT show him your paycheck.  There's no reason for him to know how much you're making.  It's none of his damned business.

Well,Now You know Her father went to law school and went to college but doesn't make him any smarter than he is now.But anyway,About a year ago I asked her Father if he could help me re-do my resume maybe when he reviewed it,He thought to himself that this guy hasn't had much work experience in 13 years,Could be that's why they dislike me somewhat.I don't really care if they hate me or not cause I got this job for MYSELF and I will work as hard as I can to strive for Full Time so I can eventually work 5 days a week. That's my long term goal for me and ONLY me!Nobody else!

Thanks for all the well wishes. The surgery went fine, and they sent the mass to be biopsied. We won't know anything for up to 10 days, but he told me, that he's seen alot of these things, and it looks to him to be "very aggressive", which isn't good news. All we can do now is wait and see.  :(

My mom used to be pretty good at bowling; the best she ever bowled was 246, but that was sometime in the 70's, I think. Or maybe it was early 80's. I'm not sure if I was around yet or not. I'll have to ask her. I just know that it's been more than 20 years since the occasion. When I was real little, during the early 80's, my mom was in a bowling league; I have some vague recollections of that time.

She could never do that again, though; that's mostly because she was in a roller-skating accident in December 1989 that resulted in permanent dislocation of a bone in her right wrist.

Like I said, the best I ever bowled was also a little over 100. Just 109; and that's the only time I've ever bowled triple-digits.  I had a friend who was very good at bowling (I knew him from 1995-2001), but he passed away in October 2001.

that was a good gig, money, soda, pizza. heck where do i sign up  :)

that sounds like it was a lot of fun. I dunno, there's something about a bowling alley that I like....I can't quite put my finger on it.
they're pretty cool, you can hang out, sit and watch, you dont have to be good. just good old fashioned fun and rec. Now I feel like going.

I stole a pair of b owling shoes once without realizing it.  I was still wearing them when I left the bowling alley, not realizing I still had them on until I slipped on a patch of ice ;D

That doesn't really bother me... probably because I buy alot of clothes from thrift shops, I'm used to pre-worn stuff... although I'm sure shoes aren't washed before you get them... :-\\

that is what is strange with me...I buy almost all of my clothes at thrift shops too...even shoes on occasion...I dunno, maybe it is the whole atmosphere...how they grab the shoes off of the rack and throw them at you....and then you wonder how many others have worn (and had sweaty feet) them.

I know what you mean.. i'm a sucky bowler.. i probably average like.. 140 but it's enjoyable.

Well...this is my last day of vacation before starting the spring semester. It actually started today, but I don't have any Monday or Wednesday classes; just Tuesday and Thursday classes.

So,I went over Robin's house on Sunday and haven't seen her in almost a month. She said over the phone that she wants to be friends but yet Her Parents leave the house to go out to dinner,We watch a DVD,start kissing & then we wind up making out because we missed each other a lot and I guess the time away really hurt us mentally. Then later we both have tons of fun with the whipped cream and cherries.I bought a thing of Ice Cream for us to share and For her parents a peace offering gift which was a Bottle of Pepsi which was a very nice gesture on my part.I don't think Her and I are meant to be friends,Just boyfriend and girlfriend. To be a better boyfriend,I will do my best in trying to strive, work hard and do what I have to do on Saturdays.I want her to be proud of me cause I'm proud of her! :)

You got that right Badfinger,I am a playboy. The whipped cream and cherries came in handy If you know what I mean. ;) We both haven't seen each other in a month and we start making out later on in the evening.I told her that I would like to put this situation to bed and focus on the better things for us in the future plus going half and half on the gas is a great idea. So,It'll be the first Sunday of every month when I'll give her a 10 or a 20 then she'll give it to her Parents and that'll be that.I hope this never happens again.

I'm on a bit of a downer at the moment. School is as bad as it's always been, except i'm missing more days than ever recently... work is back to being utter sh*te (the feel-good factor didn't last long then. Looks like it's time to re-type my letter of leave), and I just can't be bothered with anything. I hope everything picks up soon....

In the last 2 1/2 hours of the first month (on the West Coast) of two thousand and six, I feel pretty good, but tired.

On the first day of the second month of two thousand and six, I think I will finally reach fifty thousand posts! :o :D
