1. Are Most Americans A-Holes? Since everyone on this planet is one, the answer is yes.
2. How American Is Your Country as of 2006? America is imperfect, but the chicks are great.
3. Do You Despise Bush (Because we sure do!) I'm dissapointed he didn't send me a Christmas card.
4. Are We Losing It To China? America and China are in harmony with one another.

1. Are Most Americans A-Holes? I think people in general are... but there are nice ones! (This means you)  :-*
2. How American Is Your Country as of 2006? As American as possible?
3. Do You Despise Bush (Because we sure do!) I know nothing about politics.
4. Are We Losing It To China? Sure are! They make everything for us!

Over 50% doesn't = we....even if it was over 90% it still wouldn't = we.

Unless "we" means "people who are signed on as donnie darko", I agree with you 100%. :)

Didn't say that it did, Chrissy.

But I do feel that perhaps "we" should be less defensive. I think Donnie was just being tongue and cheek.

This thread is starting to seem more fit for the politics board...  :D

I feel the same. I just don't understand why some people think Survivor or American Idol is more important than the process that basically controls every aspect of our lives.  ::)

Oh well, you can't force people to care about things that actually matter one way or the other..

Thanks for noticing! :)

Yeah, it's real American to let someone else speak for me, when I don't agree with him. ::)  I believe he has every right to post his opinions, but he shouldn't have used the word we.  We implies the American public as a whole.  To say, "Because I sure do"  or  "Because a lot of people sure do"  would have been perfectly fine.

I do care, but i can see why people don't.  The fact that i care doesn't change a single thing in this world.

Oh come on, lighten up. It was obvious to me that the thread was intended to be humorous, otherwise Donnie would have posted it over in politics. You made an issue of a non-issue, imo.

You should be the last person to tell me to lighten up, Oh Master of Blowing Things Out of Proportion.  I didn't make an issue out of anything.  I was simply saying that he should only speak for Donnie Darko.

Again, he was just being humorous.

Perhaps you are right.  I certainly cannot say what he meant.

Sorry I caused that argument, I didn't know it would be so controversial  ;D

I guess I should say "the majority of Americans".

4. Are We Losing It To China?

Interesting thread...probably belongs on the politics board, but I won't complain.

1. Are Most Americans A-Holes? -- Unintentionally, yes...but then again, the same applies to any other country.

2. How American Is Your Country as of 2006? -- Well, as American as it gets, in name at least.  As for remaining true to the principles of the founding fathers...that could be debated.

3. Do You Despise Bush? -- Not particularly.  He's not perfect, but we can't expect him to be.  I think he's really trying to do what's right, but that's easier said than done.

4. Are We Losing It To China? -- Frankly, I have no clue.  I think we're losing it, but not to any one specific person or country.  I mean, there's no arguing that America's lost a good bit of its former power and appeal, but was it for the better?--I'm not the one to say.
