good idea, I'll just look for the shiny spinning ball, it'll be a beacon like a lighthouse is to a boat. The arcade has all those good old games for free. or is it really free??? there is always a price one has to pay.

The buttons on each side shift each horizontal line of squares left or right.  The object is to line up vertical matches of the same color squares.

Yeah they do. Can someone tell me how to play snake?

Cat

You use the direcitonal buttons to move your snake in certain directions, and you have to collect the little spinning crosses. The quicker you collect them (The faster they're spinning) the more points you get, but for each one you collect, your snake grows one block in length

It's game over if you hit the walls or your snake crashes into itself

The three modes are:

Slug - Your snake goes slower, making it easier to manouvre, but the spinning crosses take longer to get to, meaning you get less points for them and therefore it takes longer to get to a high score

Worm - The easiest mode. Your snake goes at normal speed, meaning its moves reasonably quickly and you can get some decent points from the targets

Python - Are you nuts?! Your snake goes at ultra-high speed, meaning that if you can control it, you can get the maximum points from the targets... but this mode's for experts only

When I have my first game I do badly, then improve and improve

When I return I do okay, then I get better but then I get stuck at mediocre scores (If you have a look at the Snake highscore board you'll know what I mean)

For example - If I played Snake right now, I could guarantee a score of about 1,500. Then i'd end up getting something like 1,800 or maybe even beat my high score, but then the more games I play the worse I get, so after those first few games i'd end up getting scores between 1,000 and 1,400 every time...  :-\\

Supposedly there's a newer version of the software coming out that will support games used on other messageboard packages (like vBulletin or phpBBS I think)

so if there's a game you used to play somewhere else and would like here, let me know.

An old messageboard I belonged to had Spy Hunter.  Any chance of getting that one?

I have struggled with Triathalon and therefore leaving it well alone.

Too bad - it's such great fun (once you get the hang of it). :D

Diving:
To move press spacebar. The more times you press, the harder you run. When you reach the end of the diving board, use the arrow keys to direct your dive. UP moves you up, LEFT or RIGHT arrow make you spin backward or forward. Use Z and X keys to add figures ("Egyptian" and "Pedestrian"). A combination of the keys gives you hilarious results. Scores are obtained very much like in real life diving: the more complex the dive, the more points.

Swimming:
To move use LEFT and RIGHT arrows. The more times you press them the faster you'll swim. I've yet to figure out if there's more to this game...

Hurdling:
To move use LEFT and RIGHT arrows, much like in swimming. To jump the hurdles, use SPACEBAR.

And that's about all there is to it. :)

Aww, I got my hopes up.  :-[

I'm an MK fan, always liked them. Well, MK and MKII were awesome, 3 was okay, and 4 sucked. But I love the newer ones on PS2..

I wonder if they will every make a third movie, after the disaster of MK: Annihilation. Threshold(the production company who makes them) has been saying they will make a third one for over 3 years now.  ::)

MK 4 did suck.  I doubt if there will ever be a third MK movie, but the way Hollywood works, you never know.  There were after all 6 sequels to the movie "Police Academy", so in Hollywood anything is possible  ;D

I've beaten every game that won't take me forever and a half to beat (You know, like Tetris, Snake, Blix, etc.), except for Break It and Duck Hunt (which I actually beat a while back, but I was in IE, so it didn't save my score. Congratulations on achieving another high score there. I have recently started using the "worm" level on that game. I don't think I'd ever do well on the "python" level, though; the snake moves around real fast and I dont think I could control him too well.

So "first" place should really be "last" then. Or how about modifying the game so that a countdown timer is displayed, starting from, say, one million. Then your score is determined from how much time is left on the timer. That would make logical sense to me. (But only the perosn who created the game can do the modification.)

Some of the sounds in those games are annoying, like in Jewels, when you get a whole bunch of matches, you hear those voices scream "Excellent".  Then when you lose, that SOB says "Game Over Dude"

Yup. Whenever I find a layout that's theoretically impossible to clear, I always hit Reset until I find a decent layout. Especially one in which the top tile's partner is not directly underneath it.

Here's some strategy to getting 7 digits on Triathalon.  Since I am left handed, this is how I do it ...

With my right hand, I place my second finger on the X key, and my pinky finger on the space bar.  I press both rapidly to make the guy run. (you don't need the X key to make him run, but it's easier so you can get to the X key faster).  When he's near the edge, with my left hand, I press up to jump, whilst I hold down the X key.  (With the X key held down in place) whilst he is in mid-air, I use my right index finger to rapidly press the Z key, whilst my left hand toggles the left and right keys really quick.

So when you've cleared the board, that's it. It adds a bonus to your score; the # of points is determined by how long it took you. (Hopefully you get more points if you clear it quicker, NOT like Colorboxes where you have to take your sweet time to achieve a "high" score. ::) I don't like that.)

I haven't tried any of the new games yet, but I do like to post that Pool has faulty graphics.

- Twice, I had to submit a score, even though I hadn't cleared the table AND there was still plenty of time left.
- It has happened numerous times that I tried to pot a coloured ball when the white just went right THROUGH it! :o

Don't know if others have experienced the same thing. ???

And somehow, I managed to score over 11,000 points on this game.... :-\\

guess I'll have to see if anyone else had the same issues on the arcade support site

Yeah I noticed some new games in there...haven't played any of the most recent addenda yet :-\\

Btw, I am no longer the champ of any of the games. I was dethroned on Solitaire. :-[ :\'(

Some of the games which I currently have top score in (mostly Asteroids, Sk8 Prison and Ponx) I cannot re-beat.  I must've been smoking crack or something when I set those scores ;D

Who knocked you off the top spot? Was it WhistleDog?

I was stripped of my Solitaire crown the other day, but I got it back yesterday.

That McDonalds game is so stupid.  Even Ronald himself would hang himself if he saw it.  LOL

WhoaMG! There's a Mcdonalds game..!? :o

Yep.  It's a role playing game.  You have to raise cows, feed them (or kill them if they have mad cow disease), hire employees, sell the burgers, advertise and run the corporate side of McDonalds in an attempt to make a profit.  It's not easy, but it is quite dumb ;D
