Subject: BEST SONG EVER

Written By: Trimac20 on 02/10/06 at 4:50 am

I know there's undoubtedly a thread like this but...it can be annoying going thru the navigation system (note to admin, make an easier way to navigate threads with many pages) but then i guess its the generic msg board format. ANYway, I also have another excuse in that the search function doesn't let me search. Anyway, I don't have to justify myself to you...

When I mean best song I mean best song (famous or not) since music was first invented.

I wouldn't say there is such a thing. There are many, many fine songs out there.

Um... probably a song with universal appeal.. don't know what a good example would be, though.

"Valerie" by Steve Winwood.  It's a song everyone can enjoy :)

If I had to give my personal opinion, I'd say the best song ever written was "The World At Large" by Modest Mouse.

(Looks at Howard's post) ::)

It's really hard for me to determine what would be the best song, as I would be going by what I really like, so I'm name more than one.

Aerosmith- Dream on, Uncle Salty, Toys in the attic

Nirvana- Drain you, Frances Farmer will have her revenge on Seatle, Beeswax

The Cult- Edie, Up in the clouds, She sells sanctuary

Pretenders- Mystery achievement, Back on the chain gang, I went back to Ohio?(what is that song actually called?)

I just simply cannot narrow it down to just one song...there are far too many to do so.

"American Pie" by Don McLean is one of the more brilliant songs... although it wouldn't even make my personal top 500.

I think it's brilliant because decades later people are still arguing over the meaning and trying to "solve the puzzle". :D

I can't give my complete loyalty to just one song, it wouldn't be fair to the others that have been so good to me throughout my life. So I will name 1, but only for the sake of the post and this one could be changed at any given time as emotions, attitude, personality needs dictate.

No, can't afford one right now, my sister has one, but it would be rude of me to go over there just to use it.
