My collection contains:

Bucks Fizz
Pete Sinfield
Atomic Rooster
Keith Christmas
Ian Thomas
Return to Forever
Nektar
Dave Crossland
Jean Michel Jarre
Steve Hackett

There are others I can't think of right now,I am always looking for good obscure
music,any suggestions?

Go on then, Hunt out - The Shaggs 'My Pal Foot Foot'.

Quite possible the worst record ever released.

I don't have any actual obscure music, but people I know never heard of most of my favorite bands.

Frank Zappa, The Flaming Lips, Devo, They Might Be Giants... The thing is, they're all semi-popular.. Where are all these fans?!

I've got a few out of print albums though.

Here in the U.S.,at least in New Jersey, mention his name and the response
you get is, "Huh, who the hell is that?"

Momus is good, but I don't know what type of music you like. He's not too busy, production wise. A lot of synthesizer, I think.

I have CDs by these artists that a lot of folks around here don't seem to know (not saying no one does...):

*Chris Farlowe
*The Vejtables
*Gareth Gates  :-[
*Supreme Love Gods
*Off Broadway
*Something Happens
*Cliffs of Dooneen
*Athenaeum
*David and Jonathan
*Dwight Twilley
*The Jags
*Mike Doughty
David and Jonathan were the songwriting duo Roger Greenaway ("David") and Roger Cook ("Jonathan", and found a greater commercial success with a series of crafted compositions including "Gasoline Alley Bred" (the Hollies), "Home Lovin' Man" (Andy Williams), "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing" (the New Seekers) and "Something Tells Me (Something Is Gonna Happen Tonight)" (Cilla Black).

Oh, Inverted World - The Shins

Chutes Too Narrow - The Shins

Tom Rush - Tom Rush

Take A Little Walk With Me - Tom Rush

Merrimack County/Ladies Love Outlaws - Tom Rush

Blues, Songs and Ballads - Tom Rush

I have soundtracks to musicals that I'm sure no one has ever heard of.

The Toyes (most probably know their song "Smoke Two Joints"-remade by Subline? but the Toyes does it better.) Dr. D. fans may know this group.
http://www.thetoyes.com/

Inca Son-they play Peruivan music. Wonderful in concert.
http://www.incason.com/

The Woods Tea Company-one of my favorites. They play Celtic music and sea chanties. If you get a change to see them in concert, I HIGHLY recommend it. They ALWAYS put on a great show.

I also have a couple of new age albums-Rain Forest, Native American, etc. etc.

Feels Like Heaven was revived in 2002 as a dance version by a group called "Dario G", but apart from that, it was their only success.  It is quite a lovely song :)

As far as I know, "Throw the Warped Wheel Out" was their only album ...

I've never liked how overrated Sgt. Pepper is. It wasn't the first psychedelic album, and it wasn't their best. I mean... Yeah, it's good, but how can you get more psychedelic than Revolution 9?!

Number 9 came after Sargeant Pepper, all part of the evolution.

Ah, Mike Doughty... Soul Coughing. GOOD!

Mike Doughty? Oooh, I almost missed that.

I'm a Soul Coughing fan myself.. I almost bought "Irresistable Bliss" once, but got wise and checked it out first... I've yet to find a Soul Coughing album that's good the whole way through, but they have a few damn fine songs.

I agree.

Also, Sgt. Pepper was just in the mix of pscyhedelic music, and I don't think it ever proclaimed itself to be part of the genre, it's main spot is as a concept album. One of the very first. And, I believie, it was also the first to have full lyrics printed within the album sleeve. Very innovative for the time.

The Moody Blues did an interesting concept album around the same time, which is a favorite of mine to listen to, called "Days of Future Passed" also 1967.

It's such a haunting album.. I love the orchestrations. Some of it sounds like a twisted version of the Sound of Music.

"Haunting" is a good adjective for it. I love the line "Yesterday's dreams are tomorrow's sighs". Very profound. And of course Knights in White Satin. GREAT SONG!!

Do any of these have the song where the baby falls out of a window into
a bucket of shhhhhhh-aving cream.

other albums I own that fall into obscurity:

UK..self titled album and Danger Money

Starz...Violation

Keith Emerson..Solo ventures,(Honky, Harmegeddon, Inferno, Night Hawks Soundtrack
                      murderock and Best Revenge Soundtrack).

Roger Daltry..Under A Raging Moon (popular artist but this particular album seems to
                  have fallen between the cracks).

I think there is at least one with Dr. D. singing his version of "Shaving Cream" on the Basement Tapes (which are unreleased music) I also have Dr. Demento greatest hits of the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s + Christmas all on vinyl. And yes, Benny Bell singing "Shaving Cream" is on it.

I also own two single vinyl records for the release of the Beatles "Real Love" which came out 10 years ago when the 2nd Beatles Anthology was released. I bought them like candy because they were only $2 each. I just hope they'll be worth more than that someday! But - that doesn't mean I'll give them up  ;D

Hooters: mild success with "And We Danced, Day By Day, All You Zombies."

Hooters, as in "Satellite"..? ??? They're not really obscure IMO. "Satellite" went to #19 in Dutch Top 40.

From my own record collection:

Vampyros Lesbos - Sexadelic Dance Party (music from some obscure 1960s porn movies)

Quick and the Dead - Womb (Aussie gospel rock)

The Choir - Chase The Kangaroo (US gospel)

...so I have a broad mind. ::)

I just looked them up on the net, and I'll be darned, they have more albums
than I thought. They are a Philadelphia band but in this area they seemed to
have disappeared. The Hooters opened the Philadelphia side of Live Aid in 1985
but they never got any billing,no mention in the program and they are not shown

From Dario Gradi, the coach of British soccer club Crewe. (Don't know if he's still in charge there)

Dario G are Scott Rosser, Stephen Spencer and Paul Spencer. I love their catchy tunes "Sunchyme" and "Carnaval de Paris". :)

Are they considered obscure?

I never knew that avout their name.

I don't think they would be obscure.  They never made it over here, but internationally such as the UK, they did very well.  "Carnaval De Paris" is like one of the greatest songs of the 90's :)

The remix "Carnaval 2002" was also good

I have the CD single of "Sunchyme" .. it's still one of my favourite songs with an 80's sample 8)
