Subject: It's Mother's Day!

For those of you who live in the UK, you will probably know it's Mother's Day. What did you give to your mothers? i gave mine some chocolates, a crown ornament that says, "world's best mum" and a card all in a gift bag.

Yeah, Whew, caught me off guard. I have a friend in West Sussex, England who probably is having a rough day as her mother passed away about 9 years ago of a rare blood disorder. I hope she's well, as I did not realise it was Mother's Day already for her.

Quite why we chose to be 'different' from the rest of you on this occasion, can only be guessed at!

How very, very sad...have you contacted your friend at all?
I've just returned from a Mother's day lunch (which was not, I hasten to add, cooked by my Ma!) which also doubled up as our parents Anniversary commemoration...48 years on Tuesday and still going strong, gawd bless 'em!

I freaked out for a minute when I saw this thread. I'll still call me mum(hehe) and wish her a happy ENGLISH Mother's day. ;D

Happy Mother's Day to all the U.K. Mums out there.
BTW, I did call my mother today but I didn't wish her a happy mother's day. :-[

I bought my mam a bottle of Southern Comfort and an expensive box of chocolates along with the traditional giant card. It put a fair dent in my bank account, but it was worth it seeing my mam's face light up :)
