Subject: Most irritating member (come on, be serious)?

Written By: Trimac20 on 03/29/06 at 4:13 am

Who's the most irritating member, past or present? (I won't be offended if you say yours truly).

Who's the least irritating member.

Subject: Re: Most irritating member (come on, be serious)?

Written By: karen on 03/29/06 at 4:17 am

It varies.  Someone who was very irritating to me is now being very nice.

Least irritating?  I'd say there are loads of members here who have never irritated me at all!

I wouldn't be so indiscrete to name or even hint at them (unless they were shockingly bad) - threads like this are started  (usually by bored youngsters)  to deliberately inflame matters.    My list would number around 5-6 tho'   ;)

I'm sure at one time or another we've all annoyed each other..

Yet another pointless thread which can end up leading to more arguments

Subject: Re: Most irritating member (come on, be serious)?

Well, I did list one name, didn't I?

No, that wasn't really my intention. But it is true some members kind of annoy me (the post-hogging for instance), but I was just curious if others had the same beef as me. The last thing I want to do is spread bad karma!

Well, Trimac20, reckon I might've encountered 1  or 2  of your posts around 'the traps' over the last few weeks. I doubt any of them made a significant +'ve or 've impression on me. But this post leaves me with a  -'ve impression about you. What's the point? Surely, this whole environment should be about trying to be nice to each other. Admittedly, I was provoked a few days ago, & 'lost my rag' to some  extent when the comments made by  some 'so & so' were ridiculous. My overall intent is to have fun, be nice, be nice, be nice...........

Your post, totally mischievious, ......... I see little +'ve to be gained out of this. Did you have a particular individual in mind. If so, have the balls to come out & say it. Looks like you wanted everyone else to do your dirty work for you.

I honestly have not looked at your profile, so have no idea of your age/nationality/sex etc; etc; but it seems a post with a topic heading like yours does NOT have the intention of spreading 'Good' Karma!

??? ??? ???

I don't think he has any intention of spreading good karma. Especially if you look at his other thread "Infamous InThe00s Arguments". I'm sure he's an alright person, but the impression i'm getting is that he wants to start trouble...

I think it's when one person continually posts in a thread, thereby making it harder for someone else to get a word in edgewise.

It could also mean someone who spams the board with posts to raise their post count.

It would be spamming if you were on, like, 24/7, and kept posting the same off-topic replies, random pictures etc. in different threads  - but you're not, so I don't consider you a spammer. ;)

No, you're not guilty at all. You just play the board games a lot, which helps keep them alive. That's not spamming - that has a point. Your posts in the other fora stay on topic and contribute something. I can't find anything wrong with your posting habits.

This thread looks like it was made for instigating.  Seriously, what's the point?

That being said, I'm rarely irritated by people on inthe00s, even the ones who come off as rude, phony, etc.  It's just a message board, people.  When I do get irritated, it's just me being annoyed, rather than being offended.

Good form on your part to say that Trimac20. Live and learn.  Some may be offended if their name is put here as the most irritating, but others may not. Someone may not mind being the bad guy or girl, but the focus is negative and someone could get their feelings hurt (do we care?). Some people who have irritated me have returned the next day and been enjoyable company on here. We're not gonna be best friends with everyone here, that's for sure.  8)

^ What they said.

Plus, the only reason I did it in the first place was to protest what I consider a bullsh*t thread. I mean, "Most Irritating Member?" What good could possibly come out of that? If anything, posting that "page stretcher," as you call it, succeeded in knocking off-topic a thread which could have very easily turned ugly and mean-spirited and caused a lot of bad feelings. Why haven't you mentioned anything about that? And then on top of all that, you threaten to "accidentally" delete my account? Not fair.

Not fair.

well Al, if it means anything...I STILL find that post to be very hilarious. I love where it always seems to turn up....very classic, IMO ;)  I mean, I would rather see that, than hear about certain people's sordid details about their body parts/functions...ya know? ???

The thread has shown remarkable restraint, so no, I didn't delete it.  Yes it has the potential to turn ugly.  The fact that it hasn't, is a prety good sign most people know better.  It's hard to draw the line on locking/deleting threads as to what is "pre-emptive" and what is "over-reaching".

I was kidding about the accidental delete thing, it would totally not be an accident if someone began doing it on a regular basis >grin<  It wasn't really directed at "you" per say, so much as it is a "please don't anyone else get the idea this is funny to pull out in every thread" type of thing "because it would really be annoying if I get ten reported every day" by ten different people doing it.  I let it slide like twenty times in that other thread and never said anything.  I just don't want to see it outside of that thread, so I'm just trying the whole "put the fear of the wrath of God" thing into people's minds.

boy it's really irritating when I "double quote" everything like that...

personally, I think a thread that wasn't about members, but irritating behavoirs on the board would be far more interesting (though still potentially explosive)

I didn't know MirrorShades was you ChuckyG, I was thinking, who the f--k is does this moderator think he/she is with that cocky display of power and it was you all along and you was only kidding.  I was fooled, but the thread was kept in very good restraint and most seemed to not want to air out dirty laundry.

what is it about Dick that brings the juvenile jokes out in all of us?  I mean.. really.. he hangs out with two nuts, his nearest neighbor is an a$$hole, he never gets any p..sy and when he does, he throws up about 2 minutes after she lets  him in.  That poor Dick never  gets a break.  :D

I'm allergic to bad grammar...it makes me sick.  ::)

That was a punctuation problem. That's different from grammar.

Which is what Mr. Robocop loved to do.  ::) I'm sick of it too.

If you're so sick of bad grammar, why do you use "which" with absolutely no sensible antecedent? The closest thing to which that could have referred is "bad grammar," but that would leave you saying, "Bad grammar is what Mr. Robocop loved to do," and that is nonsense, as one does not "do" bad grammar.

Honestly, I usually don't correct this sort of thing, but I felt these cases were exceptional. Physicians, heal thyselves!

I think you actually earned applause from me!

Oh, and.. I think Trimac20 was referring to his allergic "OF" grammer... not "TO" grammer.

I was talking about grammar that's far worse than what I wrote. A notable example of really bad grammar would be "What was the last thing you seen on TV today?"

Perhaps what I meant to say was, Bad Grammar is what Mr. Robocop lo
