Breaking news ... a landmark in the history of the world has just been reached. On the site known as 'inthe00s.com'  Andrew 'Windbreaker05' has become the first person (amongst approaching 4,200 members) ever to receive 100 karma in their career. The Queen is expected to send a telegram of best wishes, and Karm-iller Parker Bowles is also impressed. As 'Cliff baby' would say.. well done.. 'Congratulations, & celebrations .........'

A messageboard I used to belong to had a really cool karma system, that they called Reputation. 

Next to each post you made, was a little scales icon.  If someone clicked it, a pop-up box would appear where they could leave you a comment.  When you viewed your profile, it included a list of everyone who'd given you reputation.  Each time you accumulated so much reputation points, you'd get a little green square added under your location information with each post you made.  After you reached the max of green squares, you'd advance to little gold squares

You'd always know when you got a negative comment.  In your profile, next to each comment you get is a green square.  If the person giving you a comment disapproves of the post he/she is comenting on, the green square turns red.  I only ever got 1 red square during my time there ;D
